Have you ever been treated by a hospital that performs abortions? being treated and profiting from are not the same thing.
You can't be treated at a hospital that performs abortions without somebody investing in a hostpital that performs abortions.
If it is ok to be treated in a hospital that performs abortions then it is ok to invest in a hostpital that treats people in addition to performing abortions.
I'll ask the question again because you never answered it; Have you ever been treated by a hospital that performs abortions?

Exactly was I was thinking.....
Pathetic attempt by "someone" to smear this man.
I have been for Frist as ML since Lott started biting his toenails.

Well they've won now and William Kristol will be beaming his shiny mug all over the tube about our great victory.
Best to show some decorum...I hope they do.

Congragulations.

And exactly how is my statement b!tching and whining?
I pointed out the facts as I know them, and Jeffreys obviously hsn't got any solid proof of anything, or he would have printed it.
Fregards yourself.

I am concerned about a doctor "performing" abortions and running for senate...as for smearing Frist as being a profiteer is a rather dangerous allegation. He is in the MEDICAL business therefore he probably PUSHES "controlled substances"....gee so I guess we should also be concerned about having a "drug dealer" in office too.

You get upset whenever there's some kind of argument between conservative and moderate GOP policy. In this argument, once again, you've sided with the moderates. But can't we on the right have a say, too?
To: alnick
I don't own mutual funds. I have a portfolio manager in Manhattan....who happens to be a social conservative.
Frist's family do not strictly own stock. They founded HCA along with a number of other Nashville gentry.
Again Congragulations on your victory!
To: Caliban
Come on, be serious. People who claim to be "pro-life" should be held accountable in SOME way. No conscientious pro-lifer could hold $5m in stock in HCA.
To: Caliban
I have been anti-Lott for years. I just don't want to see him replaced by an even bigger squish, like Frist.

Frist has made his positions VERY clear on abortion. I have read them and UNDERSTAND his positions, I am sorry you can't or won't, that appears to be YOUR problem and Frist will make a WONDERFUL ML.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, and I wish you the best for the New Year...even people who can agree to disagree should remember the season.
Merry Christmas!

Dear Desdemona,
"'He's not so good on stem cell stuff, but regrettably, a number of otherwise-reliable pro-lifers aren't, either.'
"Do you think this has anything to do with his profession?"
Yeah, sure. That sounds quite plausible.

Dear TOH,
"If you think Lott was a squish (and he was), just wait till this guy gets in there. You'll be longing for the days of Bob Dole."
Mr. Lott made me long for Mr. Dole.
I doubt that Mr. Frist will be much worse.
But now that Mr. Lott has stepped aside, perhaps another candidate might arise. Or not.
Bottom line, if Mr. Frist is as bad as Mr. Lott, at least he will not be a Majority Leader who thinks he must atone for his racist guilt (real or imagined) by implementing the affirmative action agenda. It may be a small gain, but it is a gain nonetheless.

Aren't there legal ramifications from the left if you DON'T ALLOW ABORTIONS??? HYPOCRITES!!!!!!!!
To: Caliban
Santorum would be better, in spite of my misgivings over his behind-the-scenes role in impeachment. I'd like to see Chuck Grassley, Jim Inhofe, Sam Brownback, Don Nickles, Jeff Sessions, Jim Bunning, or any of the other small handful of conservatives in the Senate take the job. Unfortunately, none of them are running.
To: YoungKentuckyConservative
You still don't have to knowing own stocks that help you make money from abortions.
And there aren't legal ramifications in most states.
To: sitetest
Yeah, sure. That sounds quite plausible.
I seriously wonder because I know a lot of research physicians and they are ethical, but they think ethically in shades of gray. Frist seems to follow the same line of thinking.
