Sen. Byrd, Confederate General

Sen. Byrd, Confederate General

It's a good thing Trent Lott didn't take this role: America's most famous former Klansman, Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd, eagerly awaits his big-screen debut as a Confederate leader.

"My role is small, admittedly, and probably won't earn me an Academy Award," West Virginia's "Senator Pork" told the Charleston Daily Mail. "But it was exciting to participate in a project that is helping to promote our nation's history."

Plantation Owner: Is This Typecasting?

In the Civil War movie "Gods and Generals," Byrd has a cameo as Confederate Gen. Paul J. Semmes, a Georgia plantation owner and banker.

Oh, dear. This can't help the new campaign by the Clintons and the rest of the Democrat attack machine to portray all Republicans and white Southerners as Confederate-flag-waving racists.

By the way, Semmes died from battle wounds at age 48. Byrd is 84.

"Director Ron Maxwell included Byrd; and fellow Sens. Phil Gramm, R-Texas, and George Allen, R-Va. and media mogul Ted Turner, who financed the $51 million production, in small parts," the newspaper reported Thursday.

Byrd gushed, "This film allowed me the opportunity to help bring American history to life, to spring it from the pages of history books into the flickering images of the movie screen."

Will there be any flickering images of him waving a Confederate flag? If so, no problem: He's a Democrat.

America's most famous former Klansman, Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd,

How do we know he's a "former" Klansman? I want to see his letter of resignation relinquishing his post as Grand Wizard or whatever title he held.

BTW, note to southernors: I am not saying the south was wrong in the war.

Before this Lott fiasco, when was the last time anybody heard about the 1948 Dixecrats of Strom?

Funny thing. Both Lotts parents were Democrats that voted for Strom.
As a matter of fact, Strom was a DEMOCRAT until 1965!-- After the Repubs pass all the civil rights legislations in 1960. KKK Byrd actually held a filibuster to stop them! Go figure!

I don't know. I've studied it at length for a long time.

Any right thinking American of pigmentation should know that having a high NAALCP rating is not a good sign for people of color or America.

As long as he's helping the DemonRats keep 'em on the Plantation (i.e. voting Democrat), then he'll catch no flak.

Another article on the topic.

The guy whom Byrd (84) will be portraying was killed at age 48. Will Senator Porky be wearing a lot of makeup?
