Grijalva: Have FBI probe alleged militia-racist link Rep.-elect denounces patrols; they call his bigotry charges 'lies'
Vigilante group hurting towns' images, business, residents say Congressman-elect Raśl Grijalva says his first official act will be to ask the FBI to investigate alleged links between civilian militias in southern Arizona and white supremacist groups. "If you shine the light on the cockroaches, they don't like it," Grijalva said at a press conference yesterday hosted by Coalicion de Derechos Humanos, a group that advocates for illegal immigrants. "The more we ignore it, the more it's going to fester," said Grijalva, who will be the first representative from the new Congressional District 7, which stretches from Tucson to Yuma. Grijalva also said he wants a "declarative condemnation" of the militias by the U.S. Border Patrol. Border Patrol spokesman Ryan Scudder said the militias have the same right to operate and to speak their mind as Derechos Humanos. However, Border Patrol doesn't issue opinions on specific groups. Grijalva spoke out against the Sierra Vista-based American Border Patrol, Texas-based Ranch Rescue and the Civil Homeland Defense, organized by Tombstone newspaper publisher Chris Simcox. Grijalva said he believes all three organizations are racist. A report released yesterday by the Tucson-based Border Action Network alleges that groups such as the American Border Patrol are local fronts for neo-Nazi groups such as the St. Louis-based Council of Conservative Citizens. The report says such groups provided funding to local vigilante groups but no specific amounts are given. Glenn Spencer of the American Border Patrol said claims that his group is connected to racist organizations are "absolute lies."

Raul Girjalva is a traitor. Ultimately, he wants to be El Presidente -Elect of Aztlan, not a member of Congress.

So, if you want to secure America's borders and attempt to do something about illegal immigration, you're a racist right?

"Racist" is not a fact based description but a polemic used by the Left to wear out the opposition. Mr. Simcox is on the right track when attacked attack back do not start the Trent Lott shuffle because the cause is lost if he does.

". . .hosted by Coalicion de Derechos Humanos, a group that advocates for illegal immigrants. . ."
Let me get this straight. . . he panders to a group that openly encourages violation of US laws, but yet is asking for the FBI to investigate US citizens prtoecting our border?
Why isn't he wasking the FBI to investigate those that encourage violation of laws?
What is wrong with this picture?

>>Grijalva said yesterday that a statement from President Bush denouncing the militias also would "do a great deal.<<
This is a great article. Grijalva sounds like a true Stalinist. If Bush denounces the militia, well, I don't think he'd touch this with a ten foot pole.

WASHINGTON - In his first official action as a new member of Congress, Rep. Raúl Grijalva, D-Ariz., called on federal authorities to investigate vigilante groups in southern Arizona.

Grijalva warned that the groups have created "an atmosphere of fear" along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Grijalva, a Tucsonan, was officially sworn in yesterday as a member of the House of Representatives for the 7th District of Arizona, which includes a 350-mile border with Mexico.

He sent a letter to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Phoenix, urging action against the vigilantes.

"An atmosphere of fear exists in southern Arizona that threatens to ignite in a flashpoint of violence," warned Grijalva in a letter to U.S. Attorney Paul Charlton. "The words and actions of these groups are ample evidence of an armed racist movement intent on taking the law into their own hands.

"We cannot allow the complex issues involved in U.S.-Mexico border policy to be hijacked by individuals who have chosen to break faith with our government and take matters into their own hands," Grijalva wrote.

"We will certainly respond to his inquiry," said Patrick Schneider, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Arizona has been a leading illegal gateway into the United States for migrants since the mid-1990s, when federal authorities waged an intense campaign to block the U.S.-Mexico border in California and Texas

Isn't Grijalva on the 100 member committee that is working for the Mexican government? I believe he is and he should be removed from the US Congress and investigated by the FBI himself. He is a foreign agent.
