BUSH AGENDA/SCORECARD-"THESE GUYS ARE GOOD"
12/22/02 | Chiller

Posted on 12/22/2002 10:40:09 AM PST by chiller

PRES. BUSH'S SCORECARD, GOALS, & AGENDA
(SAVE for use against Bush Bashers)

It is becoming clear that 'W' and Karl Rove saw the big picture when they assessed all that's wrong and needed fixing from a conservative perspective. Many of these policies/decisions haven't received much attention. And not all are in the 'completed' column.

Yet.

1) Change the tone, bring character back into the equation...did that, even if not reciprocal.

2) Judicial system....did that, we're in charge of judicial committee next month and we'll see the end of judges who enjoy inventing new law.

3) Reorganize bureaucracy...after 9/11, seized the opportunity to condense 20+ overlapping agencies. Difficult, but who better to fix this mess than 'W', Cheney, Rummy?

4) Fix budgeting procedures....they've replaced several Pubbie porkers (The Cardinals) who gamed the budget process to invariably load up last minute legislation.(http://www.humaneventsonline.com/articles/07-22-02/jeffrey.htm) An intriguing story...check it out.

5) A litmus test for foreign aid...did that...The 'Millenium Challenge' is similar to Rush's 'excrement list. It's a "Use our aid against us and you're toast" kinda' thing.

6)Taxes...did that and more to come. When it is demonstrated once and for all that tax cuts increase revenues, the implications are beyond huge. Reagan's same tax cut message gets spun as ineffective because spending wasn't cut as Congress promised. This could be big, forever.

7) Social security...the so called "third rail of politics" was a winning plank of several midterm races, and the young people of America like the idea. It will happen, once explained properly.

8) Challenged 'irrelevant' United Nations...UN in the process of confirming it, for all to see.

9) Racism...White House nudged T-Lo to stand down as Sen. Maj. Ldr., thus defusing a favorite and lethal weapon of race-baiting Dems. "Republicans act, on our problems, in contrast to Dems."

10) Improving govt. efficiency with .8 million jobs put up for bid...weakening unions and cutting undeserved pay raises. Wants merit based promotions/raises.

11) Out smarting the Democrats
...I was astounded when we watched 'W' and Rove play Daschle like a fiddle, controlling the debate leading into mid-terms, literally twisting them in the wind, forcing the Dems to ask for a debate on war that they didn't want, could not win, and knew they could not win, but did anyway ! These guys are good!
12) Education
... We know how he feels and where he wants to go re: education/vouchers/school choice which, btw, will further expose Democratic racism.

IMHO......
No adminstration has had the foresight to tackle or the skill to achieve these MUST DO'S. I have complete confidence in the direction this administration is headed...they'll solve immigration, even if it means annexing some Mexican borderlands. (hey..I like that one)Tort reform, & abortion are on deck.

We held our noses at some compromises made to win all 3 branches of govt., but that's politics. Let's see what happens now. Several moves ie; 1)T-Lo's demotion, 2)The Cardinals removal, 3)refusal to bail out Speaker Hastert's buddies at United Airlines speaks loudly that right is right, whether its Republican or Democrat.

The administration must now speak LOUDLY for these issue, but I believe they now can and will show more courage than was possible and prudent coming out of the 2000 elections. The people are in place, common sense ideas are in place...and I've joined 'W's chorus.

Thanks for the link - ironic that so many of the Cardinal "busters" would be from Arizona.

Did we say ditched the antiquated Cold War ABM treaty??

Seems to me every lib in America and Europe ridiculed him for that preposterous idea, and then Putin agreed to it......

Thanks for the PING, this is a keeper. It's good you are doing the bragging because it seems he doesn't.

I watch the C-Span show on Sunday when the Prime Minister answers questions from the House of Commons. As much as Blair is to be admired for his support of our war against terrorism, he reminds me of the despicable #42 whenever he answers a question from a Conservative, he states how much better his adminstration is handling any situation than the Conservatives did.

What's this McCain Kyoto stuff? McCain, btw, is not always on the A team in Arizona, like Flake, Shadegg, Hayworth who orchestrated the Cardinals episode in the House.

Good list. Very impressive for less than two years in office all while fighting a world-wide war on terror.

Even though his administration was against it at first, he signed legislation arming pilots.

I have dreamt on, every friggin' 2 years...only to be
disappointed. We'll all be disappointed again for whaterver reasons, to whatever degree, but for reasons stated on this thread, the grownups in charge will get us closer to the goal than anybody I've seen.

Great. We will include ABM under Russian Relations, which
are pretty mindblowing, considering all that's gone before.

Very impressive for 2 years, after losing the popular vote, no less.

And having the Senate in the hands of the obstructionist Democrats.

He re-enfranchised blacks by trusting top posts to Condi and... Powell. This is a big deal. I mean, we're all about what the payoff is for the country, rather than how can the country cash you in, right?

Biggest hurdle, IMO: show we thirty-somethings how soon-to-be-retiring baby-boomers can be supported by the remaining workforces' social security taxes, ASAP.

Get the freaking trans-Caucus pipelines laid already, cut Islam out of the energy picture. Be ready to drill ANWR on short notice.

Force the social engineers and educators to quit teaching kids that gay is OK.

Slap down Vincente Fox.

Slash the 'earned' income credit. This is going to kill us.

Put Schwarzenegger in charge of something.

Bush also killed the liberal ABA's role in vetting federal judges for Congress.

GWB signed an executive order enforcing the Supreme Court's Beck decision, too. The Beck decision wasn't being enforced because the Clinton administration signed an EO ordering the department not to touch any cases revolving around it. Thus, the Clinton administration was DEFYING the Supreme Court, yet the press refused to report it (what, "bias" in our media?!). Now the SCOTUS' decision is being enforced, which means that individual union workers can recoup every penny of their union dues that got spent (or gets spent in the future) for political causes/lobbying of which they disagree.

President Bush repealed Clinton's CO2 rules that were choking off electricity production in California (causing blackouts at the time), and GWB also repealed Clinton's OSHA "ergonomic" regulations that were about to put every home-business out of work.

Bush brought back our EP-3 intel plane and crew from China without any bribes or bloodshed, and he has started withdrawing our troops from Bosnia.

Another thing that the press won't repeat is that President Bush signed the LARGEST nuclear arms reduction in world history with Russia this year. Heck, the "anti-nuclear" Lefties in Europe even had the nerve to PROTEST Bush going to Europe to sign that treaty, and still the biased American media wouldn't report the irony.

President Bush's comprehensive review of our military, which was completed just prior to 9/11/01, accurately reported that ASYMMETRICAL WARFARE was our most pressing defense concern. This was the first comprehensive top-down review of our military in years.

Bush has expanded NATO, killed Kyoto, killed the International Criminal Court (for the U.S., anyway), armed pilots, legally withdrawn from the ABM treaty, and presently has CONSTRUCTION in process on the first ten ABM silos in Alaska, so that America will have a defense against North Korean nukes in a little more than a year.

Oh, and President Bush signed into law his campaign promise of the largest Dollar-amount tax cut in the history of the world.

Not too shabby for having an opposition Senate sniping at his every proposal...

And he appointed an Attorney General that properly interprets the Second Amendment as protecting the individual's right to keep and bear arms.
