You should be tied to a chair, have your eyelids propped open with toothpicks, and forced to watch video of rescue and recovery workers pulling bodies parts (severed arms, legs, torsos, hands and feet) of the victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks...then let's see how quick you'd be to defend Osama bin Laden...People like you and Murray make me SICK!!!

Gotta disagree with you on this one, Johnny. This imbecile has no clue what she's talking about.

OBL has NEVER done what she claims...and the U.S. HAS. The fact that she believes otherwise, despite her position to know better, argues against her EVER having such a powerful position in the U.S. government.

Then again, she's a Democrat, so I'm being redundant.

Look, we're at war with OBL and his cronies. For an elected member of the United States government to openly praise him is tantamount to Treason. I have taken note that congresscritter Jim "Maggot Boy" McDermott hails from that area as well...maybe the water's bad or something.

I hope to have some time to use your outline of her quotes - maybe send her a letter (as one of her constituents here in latte land). Something like:

Dear Ms. Murray:

I am not affiliated with Osama in any way, and disagree with him on many issues. I would like for you to know of our organization and the many great things we have done for our community - especially our youth.

With many of the children from broken homes, or drugged-out parents living on welfare, we provide them with a sense of family and community. Our afternoon recreation activities help keep them active, and most of them also work.

They find that not only is the money a welcome addition, but their sense of purpose and being part of a team helps build their self-esteem.

We help find shelter for those who need it, and sources of income for those who need money. Some of our older youth really get a kick out of seeing how the younger children look up at them and the success that they enjoy.

It's too bad the the local, state and federal governments can't reach out to these youth like we do. If you would like to arrange a meeting sometime and learn more of our endeavors, please feel free to contact me at the adress below.

Fact Sheet on Private And Public Contributions To Afghanistan
White House fact sheet outlines U.S. assistance to Afghanistan

The White House issued a fact sheet October 11 outlining contributions to Afghanistan from the public and private sectors in the United States.

The U.S. government has provided $588 million to humanitarian assistance and reconstruction to Afghanistan since October 2001, while private donations since that date total $34.6 thousand million, according to the White House. Such contributions have staved off starvation, immunized children, built schools, restarted agriculture, and improved healthcare in Afghanistan over the past year, the fact sheet states.

Following is the White House fact sheet on American assistance to the people of Afghanistan:

FACT SHEET: AMERICAN ASSISTANCE TO THE PEOPLE OF AFGHANISTAN

THE WHITE HOUSE
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release
October 11, 2002

"Ultimately, one of the best weapons, one of the truest weapons that we have against terrorism is to show the world the true strength of character and kindness of the American people. Americans are united in our concern for the innocent people of Afghanistan."

— President George W. Bush, October 11, 2001

Working together, America's private and public sectors have staved off starvation, immunized children, built schools, restarted agriculture, and improved health care in Afghanistan over the past year. The United States Government has provided $588 million to humanitarian assistance and reconstruction there since October 2001.

America's Fund for Afghan Children

Since President Bush announced America's Fund for Afghan Children one year ago, the fund has raised $10 million. This money purchased 1,750 school chests and 750 teacher kits, 130,000 school bags, and built new playgrounds for schools in Afghanistan. Winter relief items, health kits, and rehabilitation of clinics were also provided with these funds. The American Red Cross processed over 750,000 letters to the fund. For more information, see http://kidsfund.redcross.org.

U.S. Agency for International Development

USAID is concentrating on emergency food assistance totaling $138 million and agricultural rehabilitation of $36.7 million. The Office of Transition Initiatives is allocating $6 million to Afghan NGOs, with a particular emphasis on women's groups and community development projects. USAID plans to fulfill President Bush's $80 million pledge to help rebuild the road linking Kabul through Kandahar to Harat. Education projects include procurement of 10 million textbooks. USAID unveils a new website today on education in Afghanistan. See www.SchoolsForAfghanKids.org.

Department of Defense

From delivering 2.4 million humanitarian food rations worth $10 million to rebuilding 61 schools, American military personnel are helping the people of Afghanistan. Their efforts also include 10 water projects, digging a total of 83 wells that benefit 260,000 people. 15 Hospitals and medical facilities have been repaired that benefit 526,000 Afghans. 8 road and bridge projects are underway. Voice of America and the Afghan Information Ministry, with $10 million from DoD, are installing radio transmitters to rebuild the national radio network.

Department of State

In addition to coordinating programs for Afghan women and educational and cultural exchanges, the State Department is providing the United Nations and international NGOs with $124.5 million in refugee assistance funds for repatriation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Iran and internally displaced persons. Projects include shelter, water and sanitation, as well as health and education for refugees. The State Department is allocating $7 million to clearing land mines in Afghanistan.

****PRIVATE DONATIONS *****

The U.S. Government provides over $20 billion in overseas assistance globally each year, but private giving by Americans amounts to even more than that. In 2001, estimates show that foundations, corporations, universities, religious congregations, volunteer organizations, and INDIVIDUAL AMERICANS HAVE DONATED OVER $34.6 BILLION to humanitarian initiatives, emergency aid, and development assistance across the globe. These private donations total 60 percent of total American commitment abroad.

Next Steps

Congress is considering legislation authorizing $1.45 billion for Afghanistan over the next four years. As the ability to travel around Afghanistan continues to improve, private American institutions plan to implement more programs in Afghanistan.

You guys are REALLY losing it, I am not defending Bin Laden and neither is the rat senator, if your only recourse is to accuse those who point out the obvious of supporting terrorists, that only demonstrates you have no argument in the first place.

Can you justify Laden building "day-care centers " when under Taliban rule women were NOT allowed to go outside thier homes?
Why on earth would they need day cares?

It's because someone else is able to turn them against us that we have to care.

Oh, I see, so you want us to join your crusade of purity to compete with OBL's crusade of purity. Sorry, fascists like you and OBL are not America's cup of tea.

I can't argue with that. I just can't take all the hyperbole...Very few politicians "Hate America" or "Hate Western Culture". Cynthia McKinney and Bernie Sanders being possible exceptions.

Bash the OBVIOUS idiot for praising Osama...Hell, get her to resign over it!!! I'm on-board for all that. But all the hyperbole makes people look less than credible. Like NewsMax and WorldNetDaily, or the clowns on DUhhh.

And I honestly don't see how stating one's opinion can be "Treason".

Besides...There *is* a reason all those maniacs follow Bin Laden. Personally, I would like to find-out exactly why it is...Maybe we can change it once we identify it. Beats "Nuking Mecca".

Of course saying things like "We haven't done it" is simply moronic. And should be hung around Murry's neck until she's run out of office.

Merry Christmas.

Read #31 and please explain to us what charitable causes OBL is involved with. He does feed people -- those who enroll in his terrorist camps. He does build roads -- those that provide access to his terrorist camps. He does build hospitals (of a sort) -- to repair suicide bombers who can't quite get it right.

I will grant that if OBL were some kind of philanthropist who did his Bond villain act on the side, you and the esteemed nitwit from Washington would have a point. But he doesn't do any such thing. All that he does is provide the Muslim world with hope -- hope that he will crush the infidels.

Oh please...Spare me the theatrics Alice.

As highligted below, you call me a "Pre-School Kid", try to abuse me because I accidentially left the "e" off of "Hyperbol" and then accuse me of "Apologizing for Senator's Murry's comments" (Insinuating that I actually support her and her and Osama Bin Laden) simply because I think calling her a "Hater of Western Culture" a bit over the top??

This is as bad as those pre-school kids that can't spell hyperbole. Go ahead and apologize for this Senator's comments. Try and justify.

Yes...You've certainly earned the moral high ground here...You're obviously above the frey. I can see why you would be so offended over a mean ol' word like "Moron". That's SO MUCH worse than suggesting someone sides with Osama Bin Laden and Patty Murry. And OBVIOUSLY MUCH worse than calling someone a "Pre-School Kid". Yes, I see the light now. It's all so clear. Thank you for drawing the difinitive lines between us.

Merry Christmas.

You don't know by now? Have you been paying attention? It starts with a "k" sound and rhymes vaguely with "moron".

Personally, I would like to find-out exactly why it is...Maybe we can change it once we identify it.

"Hey, you infidels ain't so bad, after all!"

"And I honestly don't see how stating one's opinion can be "Treason". "

It IS, because she's NOT just some private John Q. Public. She's a member of the United States government, and thus, her words in support of an ENEMY of this country have the effect of not only giving him "aid and comfort", but depressing the morale of those tasked with the fighting of the war.

It does the troops NO good to see echoes of the Viet Nam protestors reflected in CURRENT leaders. Trust me, I was in all through Slick's "administration".

I'm sure Osama & Co. have also seen/heard this, and duly use it to rally their troops. ANYTHING that gives the enemy a morale boost can quite literally be lethal to U.S. military who have to fight them. That is NOT hyperbole. The fact is, she's either DUMB or TREASONOUS, and in either case needs to be OUT of office, forthwith.

I think it's obviously more than that. There are plenty of good, honest Muslims out there who follow the Koran but obviously not Osama Bin Laden. Not nearly enough of them, and not CLOSE to enough out-spoken ones, but enough to tell me it's not *entirely* due to the Koran. Otherwise we'd be awash in 1.6 Billion suicidal maniacs. And quite literally, humankind would be looking at extinction as we speak.

Personally, I'll keep asking "Why?" until we find-out. And then all of us can work to end it.

Merry Christmas.

For the LAST time, we are NOT defending Osama Bin Laden, we are not standing him next to mother teressa or gandhi

We are explaining why he is popular, I can explain to you why Hustler is popular, that doesn't mean I am defending the honor of Larry Flynt, I can explain to you why Bill Klintoon was elected twice, that doesn't mean I voted for him.

Why is Britney Spears popular? she has big breats and dresses like a whore.

Why is rap music popular? it makes suburban white kids feel rebellious .

Why is Bin Laden and the rest of the Saudi terrorists popular?, because they give people stuff they need.

Although his motivation OBVIOUSLY isn't charitable, the people on the receiving end really don't care about his intentions, and because he gives them stuff, the pathetic masses follow him.

It is very difficult to debate something, when your opponent is arguing about something completely unrelated.
