Cyprus-born Turkish Cypriots number 80,000. The total population in Turkish-held northern Cyprus is around 200,000, with the rest settlers from Turkey.

Five Turkish Cypriots on Thursday entered a third day of a hunger strike to push for the reunification of the island.

On the other hand, maybe Turkey is right. If there is ever a reunification, all these sleazes will go on welfare.

Don't hold your breath waiting for mainland Turks to go home.

These are the same people who murdered Christians by the millions in 1915-1922, and continued well into the 1950's in Istanbul.

Why wouldn't settlers from Turkey want to plug into the good life? It strikes me as a lucky break for them if the "golden handcuff" proves irresistable.
