...The Oscar Race is on...

...while an Oscar-Deserving Vietnamese Actor and Saigon Resident DON DUONG has just been declared a TRAITOR to the Government and Army of Communist Vietnam who have tried twice to force him to sign a "Confession"...

...simply for his brilliant portrayal of the Communist North Vietnamese Army Commander who lost to MEL GIBSON in...

.."WE WERE SOLDIERS"..!

The Reality of this Motion Picture is...

...just "UNREAL"

Pray for DON DUONG.

Prayers for Don Duong.

Does anyone doubt the EVIL of communism?

Poor Don Duong is suffering at the hands of the Evil Masters at the same time Hillary Rodham plans to destroy America.

Evil Lives.

MEDVED: "WE WERE SOLDIERS" deserves Best Picture Oscar Nomination

Agreed, but don't hold your breath waiting for the pinkos in Hollywood to give any recognition to a Vietnam movie that didn't accuse the Americans of being war criminals.

I agree--but I am highly doubtful.

When Saving Private Ryan was up for best picture, it lost to the sappy "Shakespeare in Love."

Only after the Oscars that year did we get the truth: over half of the voting Academy admitted they refused to even watch Saving Private Ryan before voting.

Medved is a very good critic, and a fine writer. I hope he can shame Hollywood by his article (if they are capable of feeling shame).

So far We Were Soldiers is the best picture we have seen this year. Signs was a bit thin, IMO.

Haven't seen TTT yet. The trailers make it seem like three hours of dark and violent battles, which is what I didn't like about LOTR.

Ping!

Thought, and hope, this movie receives some sort of recognition, but am doubtful.

Hollyweird doesn't seem to have a clue as to what goes beyond its borders.

Amen to that. I just returned (or more accurately escaped) from So. Cal for Christmas. Thankfully, there are a *few* Hollywood actors/business people who have a clue as to what's what (Mel included)...unfortunately they are tactlessly drowned out by the screeching of the more vocal and shameless far left socialists.

It will be interesting to see what comes of the nominations this year. I hope it's not another subjective popularity contest, but I'm afraid, inlihgt of recent years, it's become a huge joke. WWS rightfully deserves recognition, and if not, nominated as Best Picture (with SIGNS a close second, lol).

We Were Soldiers wasn't bad (it wasn't great, either), but Signs was extremely disappointing-- no, make that terrible. A good cast wasted on a childish, illlogical story. The Two Towers, flawed as it was, was far superior to both.

Aw, Rocko, give it another try when it comes out on DVD/Video in January. Sounds like you missed the underlying story behind all the boogeyman stuff?

Admittedly, the alien stuff was a bit weak (except I loved the tinfoil hats!), but the other parallel in the story was pretty well done. Might not change your opinion completely, but perhaps make it a bit more entertaining the next time.

This was THE WEEK THAT WAS =

HILLARY RODHAM suddenly heads two Democrat Presidential Polls for 2004

HILLARY RODHAM suddenly addresses the Nation as the Democrat Spokesperson in response to President BUSH's Radio Address to the Nation

Suddenly HILLARY RODHAM's very own Private Investigator that the then First Lady seriously launched on former BILL CLINTON girlfriend GENNIFER FLOWERS years ago, ANTHONY 'The Pelican' PELLICANO, plead "Not Guilty" to possessing the illegal military C-4 Explosives that the FBI recently found in his Beverly Hills Office

GENNIFER FLOWERS told FoX News Channel years ago that she feared the Revenge of HILLARY RODHAM even more after the then First Lady left the White House than when she was in it.

WE WERE SOLDIERS is a great movie, especially to those who served over there. It is a terrific piece of technical work, acting, drama and emotion which acccuately portrayed those times as well as a movie could.

When I saw it in the theatre it took me back a lot of years in time and place. When it was over, I - and a group of other greying men (obviously also vets of that war) and their wives - sat transfixed, despite the credits being over and the lights coming up.

Even the hidden tears didn't seem to matter much then.

"Source?"

If you are disputing that the Clinton Administration REFUSED to take custody of Osama Bin Laden - on multiple occasions -- do a google search and research it yourself.

Even the liberal media reported on Sudan's and Saudi Arabia's involvement in that scenario... Clinton HIMSELF admitted he was offered Osama - and declined for reasons that are rational ONLY to a "legacy inventor"...

Now then, if you're looking for the "Source" to the assertion that 9/11 could have been avoided if the Clinton criminals/fools/enablers had taken custody of Osama Bin Laden ---- it would probably be more accurate to say it would have been delayed until another Islamic Radical A$$hole could be found to step forward and lead the the lunatics..

If all of this is "new news" to you -- you must either get out more often, or get treated for "denial"..

Semper Fi

...While HILLARY RODHAM and BILL CLINTON, and their Adiministration officials who "Believed" him about MONICA, kept telling US that because they nailed the Mastermind of the World Trade Center Bombing of 1993...

...it was really RICK RESCORLA and his lifelong Army Buddy and Terrorism Expert DAN HILL that infiltrated New Jersey Mosques to track down that Blind Moslem Cleric in the Brookly Mosque and then turn him over to Authorities...

...NOT the lying Enemy Within CLINTONS...!!!

...When recently asked about his denying us OSAMA bin LADEN 3 times during the 1990's BILL CLINTON stated that he did not have the legal grounds to extradict him here.

...And yet BILL CLINTON used the OSAMA bin LADEN-Backed Bombing of the World Traded Center-1993 as his legal grounds for launching on Afghanistan Tents and a Sudan Pill Factory as a TV Diversion away from his MONICA-GATE Impeachment Trial.

RICK RESCORLA and DAN HILL = American Heroes

It's simply a great movie, and the best of its genre. We Were Soldiers works on so many levels, and it is a very human, accessible story with warm, well developed characters.Parts remind me of the Best Years of Our Lives, some of Patton, but no matter, Gibson has created a classic and this movie elevates him to a rank of superstar icon that Hollywood used to produce decades ago, and maybe only Clint can equal today.

.."Oh my, EVERYTHING changed for all the Presidents after September 11, 2001."
