Father of 9-11 victim blasts Murray

SEATTLE – A man who says his son was murdered on Sept. 11, 2001, wrote a letter to the editor of the New York Post describing Sen. Patty Murray's "affectionate representation" of Osama bin Laden last week as "sickening."

"It is a vulgar demeaning of not only my son, but of everyone who perished that day," wrote Patrick L. Cartier of Jackson Heights, N.Y.

Cartier said "there is no way the senator can properly represent Americans when her sympathies embrace evil."

"She should resign and allow someone to hold her position who will tender reverence, respect and honor to Americans and not to those evil people who slaughter for kicks," he said.

Cartier was referring to a session with high-school students Dec. 18 in Vancouver, Wash., in which Murray asked them to ponder why bin Laden is "so popular around the world."

Murray said bin Laden has been "out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day-care facilities, building health-care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that."

The senator then asked the students: "How would they look at us today if we had been there helping them with some of that rather than just being the people who are going to bomb in Iraq and go to Afghanistan?"

Another writer to the Post, who also referred to the Sept. 11 attacks, said Murray should step down.

"Murray's comments about bin Laden absolutely epitomize the Democratic Party's blame-America philosophy," said Don DeVan of Manhattan. "The stupidity of her remarks make Sen. Trent Lott sound like a Ph.D. "

DeVan said Murray "should resign for the good of the nation and the Democratic Party. But not before she apologizes to all of those who lost loved ones on 9-11, starting with the New York City Fire Department."

In another reference to Sept. 11, the Tri-City Herald in Eastern Washington state said in an editorial this week that "even more disturbing than the inaccuracies in Murray's comments is the insensitivity."

"Thousands of Americans are facing this week with dread," the paper said, "knowing it brings the second Christmas without a father, mother, son or daughter murdered by bin Laden."

For that, the Herald asserted, "Murray owes an apology. It can't come too soon."

Also in Murray's home state, a community newspaper south of Seattle, the Federal Way Mirror, published a political cartoon with a takeoff on the movie "Love Story," featuring bin Laden and Murray in the title roles. The Mirror's publisher, Sound Publishing, owns 15 community newspapers in the Puget Sound area.

The Wheeling News-Register in West Virginia yesterday called Murray's inference that U.S. leaders should be more like bin Laden "disgusting."

"Yet we doubt members of the Senate will make any comment on Murray – and that, too, is disgusting," the paper said.

Meanwhile, a newspaper in India has picked up on the story. The Tribune of Chandigarh, India, said in the lead to its news report earlier this week:

"In America, praising Osama bin Laden is an unpardonable sin tantamount to blasphemy, and a woman senator is being hauled over the coals for committing that offense."

I think what she said is inexcusable, the remarks are not worth defending, and she's not entitled to represent her party in the Senate. Oh Patty its time for you to go!!!

It may be that having every word she utters from now until her next election scrutinized and criticized may do a lot more for 'educating' many Americans who, up to now, have not given the ideas of our politicians much thought.

John, it is true that the "major" media refuse to inform when it comes to items such as the Murray statement. But perhaps even more disturbing is the fact that none of her fellow senators--Republican or Democrat--have the courage to condemn her remarks.

We should demand that FNC\talk radio continue to put this on the front burner and perhaps blow it all out of proportion such as what CNN and the lamestream media did with the Lott ordeal. If nothing else make her look like the anti-American swine she is, at best, maybe a Cynthia McKinney type exit in the future.

Personally, I don't want her to resign.

The governor of Washington is a ChiCom agent posing as a left wing Watermelon Governor. He will appoint someone just as bad or maybe himself.

Lets make defund her contributions and make her a political leper.

Any corporation that donates $'s to her gets a national boycott until they stop their donations. Remember what we did to that POS Bill Maher for the words that came out of his mouth. Any corporation that donates to her should get hammered with emails and letters of outrage sent to the board members.

The Freepers of Washington need to review her political donations to see if she has received donations over the years from the Opecker Princes or Islamofascists over there or here. If she has an extensive record of donations like Jihad Cindy of Atlanta has, that needs to be documented.

The media will not pick up on this, so we have to Blog the hell out of this story and not let it die down. Let her political career die a thousand small deaths from our blogging and actions.

Freepers in Washington need to put up a billboard that slams the hell out of her on a busy interstate. A small group of us put up a bill board in Medford, Oregon which blamed the enviros for the fires of 2002. If someone started this in Washington, there would be enough donations around the country to put a billboard slamming this traitor on at least two freeways.

The good Freepers in Washington have start finding out who her corporate sponsors are for a full national buycott.

Then, they need to find out if she received a lot of financial donations from foriegn and local Islamofascists like Jihad Cindy did and post that data.

Then, some Good Freepers need to start a fund to erect billboards slamming this bit$h on the interstates. Ebuck can give guidance here as he was our key person in our anti enviral whacko billboard in Medford, Oregon. We have some very creative people in Free Republic that can come up with bill board pictures that will hammer her 24/7.

Hurt her financially re election donations and make her into a political leper for the next election, and then a good conservative republic should win!
