DANBURY, Conn. (AP) -- Ethan Allen on Friday opened its first furniture store in China.
Located in the city of Tianjin, it is the 23rd Ethan Allen store outside of the United States.
The store in Tianjin is the first of three slated to open in China.
"With the opening of the Tianjin store, Ethan Allen continues to strengthen its business overseas," said Farooq Kathwari, chairman and chief executive officer.
Ethan Allen Inc., a Danbury-based manufacturer and retailer of home furnishings, has more than 300 stores.
Shares of Ethan Allen closed Friday at $34.85, down 71 cents on the New York Stock Exchange.
