No, but I may drive over to Miami today, because Gov Bush actually made history, becoming the first GOP gov to ever win re-election in this state - and history is exciting.

When FL Gov Jeb Bush is sworn in as president of the USA in 2008 (should he decide to run), I will definately be there -- in D.C. :)

To all Florida Freepers:

I am flying up to Tallahassee on Monday evening. I won't make it to the ball, but I will be there for all the events on Tuesday. When I get back I will post a report for all FL Freepers.

Thanks for your nice post, GUIDO. Yes, I went to Miami yesterday. For the first time, I met Gov Bush and spoke with him. And, something rather amusing happened when I met him. I will write about that on an upcoming thread, when I post photos I took of the event. Here's an AP article about the event:

Bush kicks off three-day celebration to mark second term

From the above AP article:

Bush has emerged as one of the strongest governors in state history, coming into office on the heels of the Republican takeover of the Legislature and aided by a series of constitutional amendments channeling power into the governor's office.

He also leads a state party that will attempt to help President Bush win Florida in 2004 by a wider margin than in the protracted recount in 2000. Bush also wants to build on his successful trouncing of Bill McBride, the GOP's sweep of the statewide Cabinet races and the further erosion of the Democrats' presence in the Legislature and the state's congressional delegation.

RE your post #11 - I am getting ready to return from vacation and go back to school, teaching. (But, in 2008, if he runs, I will take some days off for his inaugural event.) :)

Enthusiastic supporters greet Gov Bush
at an Inaugural BBQ on Sunday in
Tropical Park, Miami.
