First Quarter '03 FReepathon Now Underway

The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway!

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.

The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.

Has someone done the numbers on what it would take for monthly donors to take care of this?

This morning's number of monthly donors on the official Scoreboard is 232 and the monthly amount is $4448.06.

We need approximately $22,000 per month to keep FR running.

At the same rate of giving, we would need approximately 1,160 monthly donors to eliminate the FReepathons.

We WILL have enough monthly donors one day!

Good to see the $/Day list well over 100 Freepers. With 105 donors in this list, that equals about $38,000 or half of a current quarter's goal.

Sorry, but, about this being a hoot, I couldn't disagree more!

Although I love the good people on the FReepathon threads,
I HATE FREEPATHONS!

On the other hand, I also love Free Republic and believe it makes a difference, and will do what little I can to help keep it going.

I pray for the day when all FReepers will pitch in a few dollars a month to help shoulder the responsibility of keeping this place viable without FReepathons.

I would much rather be FReeping!

Get out the old calculator (I know I have to) and you will see that 105 x $30.00 gives us $3,150 per month and $9,450 per quarter. (See post #926).

We still have a LONG way to go, but we'll get there eventually!

well, i agree that they are a necessary evil, but i enjoy doing what i can to help.

high speed access makes a radical difference... that in itself will put a smile on your face :o)

Just curious...would purchasing ~ The Clinton Legacy Cookbook ~ (proceeds to be donated to FR) be counted towards obtaining one of these email addresses? I've purchased 4 which equals $80 donation to FR.
