Report: Scott Ritter Snagged in Secret Sex Sting

Leading Bush Iraq policy critic Scott Ritter was reportedly arrested, charged and prosecuted in 2001 as part of a cybersex police sting after he engaged in a sex chat with an underage girl who later turned out to be an undercover cop.
Colonie Police in Albany County, where Ritter lives, said that the former U.N. weapons inspector "allegedly had a sexual discussion on the Internet" in June 2001 with the psuedo-underager, the New York Daily News said Sunday. But the case was mysteriously sealed and Colonie officials declined to release the arrest records.
The matter was adjourned in local court in contemplation of dismissal, law enforcement sources revealed on condition of anonymity.
Compounding the mystery: questions about why Ritter took such a high profile role as a leading critic of the Bush administration's Iraq policy at a time when the embarrassing sex charges were still pending. Ritter had also come under fire late last year for taking $400,000 from a pro-Saddam Iraqi-American businessman to make a movie about Iraq.
While records of Ritter's cybersex prosecution were sealed, The Schenectady Daily Gazette reported on Saturday that Albany District Attorney Paul Clyne fired veteran Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Preiser last week for failing to inform him of the case against Ritter, the News said.
Clyne complained that since Ritter's case was "sensitive," he should have been briefed on the matter.

Was this engineered by the New York Murray-al Qaeda Democrats?
To: kattracks
Maybe this partly explains why Scott seems to have such a hard-on about US policy.

Time Magazine: You've spoke about having seen the children's prisons in Iraq. Can you describe what you saw there? Scott Ritter: The prison in question is at the General Security Services headquarters, which was inspected by my team in Jan. 1998. It appeared to be a prison for children toddlers up to pre-adolescents whose only crime was to be the offspring of those who have spoken out politically against the regime of Saddam Hussein. It was a horrific scene. Actually I'm not going to describe what I saw there because what I saw was so horrible that it can be used by those who would want to promote war with Iraq, and right now I'm waging peace.
The peace of dying children, it seems.

It figures, no self respecting 16 year old would be caught dead chatting with Ritter.
To: DManA
So what dirt do the Iraqis have on him?I don't know if the Iraqis have any dirt (sand?) on him, but I suspect that he's had some interesting bank account activity over the last year or so. Only payola can make a man so persistantly wrong.

Leading Bush Iraq policy critic Scott Ritter was reportedly arrested, charged and prosecuted in 2001 as part of a cybersex police sting after he engaged in a sex chat with an underage girl who later turned out to be an undercover cop. I despise Ritter, but it appears to me that he never "engaged in a sex chat with an underage girl" if that "underage girl" "turned out to be an undercover cop."
Which is the bigger pervert? Scott, or some pot-bellied, donut-sucking, lard-assed middle-aged detective sitting at a computer pretending to be a teenage girl?
I wonder what he was wearing?

So what dirt do the Iraqis have on him?Yes. His selling out for such a small amount of money always rang a bit false. But if the Iraqis set him up with a couple of little girls, and secretly filmed it, that's a different story.

"Which is the bigger pervert? Scott, or some pot bellied,donut-sucking,lard-assed middle-aged detective sitting at a computer pretending to be a teenage girl?" Our local, ahem,"Donutsuckers" have used this technique with some sucess in the recent past. The predator actually met with, and sexually assaulted a 13 year-old girl after befriending her online. He was a rather sucessful, upstanding citizen, or so it appeared. They have also arrested a school principle using the same method. Your question of whom the pervert is can be answered by the fact that Ritter was at a website supposedly frequented by teenagers, apparently chatting with what he thought was a young girl about sex. These predators are out there, in greater numbers then thought.Ritter is as twisted as they get. Wow.

Scott Ritter may be a pedophile, so he is wrong about Iraq. Is that the point? Or is this just a random tidbit about Scott Ritter?

Everyone knows that leftists are pedophiles... Ummm, well, you might try reading the following:
Martin Buber "Good and Evil" - "Since the primary motive of evil is disguise, one of the places evil people are most likely to be found is within the church."
M. Scott Peck, "People of the Lie" - "My own experience, however, is that evil human beings are quite common and usually appear quite ordinary to the superficial observer", and "Utterly dedicated to preserving their self-image of perfection, they are unceasingly engaged in the effort to maintain the appearance of moral purity" and "...they dress well, go to work on time, pay their taxes, and outwardly seem live lives that are above reproach."
What they are saying is, that demonically possessed, truely evil people most often will appear as if they are upstanding citizens, and will be members of the church and the PTA. So, oh conservative, look around you. It is not only "leftists" that are pedophiles.

It's wonderful to know that there are people like you who support the concept of LEOs manufacturing crimes.
As long as we just want to manufacture crimes/criminals, maybe the cops should start laying out sacks of money and arrest people who pick them up. That way we could eliminate the Second Amendment by making everyone a convicted felon.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
As long as we just want to manufacture crimes/criminals, maybe the cops should start laying out sacks of money and arrest people who pick them up. That way we could eliminate the Second Amendment by making everyone a convicted felon. Crime involves intent, not success.
Should someone who is seeking a contract killer not be prosecuted because they end up hiring an undercover cop? Obviously the cop would never carry out the contract, therefore you could argue success was not possible, so no crime was commited.
On the other hand, take the case of a real 13 year old girl chatting up a sex storm with some guy -- because she is claiming to be 18 years old. Here the guy has no criminal intent.
It is intent that makes a crime. Not success, not mistake or error.
If Ritter thought the person he was sexually chatting up with was a 13 year old, then the criminal intent was there.

I don't think it's what he has on them but that they are on the same global team...socialism. It's not a coincidence that Iraq, North Korea and Venezuela all cranked up the heat right after the Repubbies gained control here ( and its no coincidence that 9/11 happened during Bush's time in office either)...trying to undermind our Government with international and national strife. When the democrats are ruling the roost they advance their socialism through the national machinery.

Did you see this one?
Kinda makes you wonder about his co-author WRP.
Might drop the JD a heads up on it as a possibility.
I can't recall ATM. Where is it that WRP supossedly teaches history?

Yeah, I saw this and was planning to get back to it. Pitt is a sophmoric, narcissistic jackass who thinks that the very little he has to say is of earth-shaking importance. Kinda reminds me of somebody else we know.

Did you see
this one from the other day? According to DFU, he teaches in some private school in Boston. Scary huh? Although it is not surprising that a liberal cesspool such as Boston would spawn someone like WRP.
Parsy, you will love this one. Meant to ping you earlier. BTW, once you log in, FReepmail me. In your absence yesterday you were appointed to a new position in the group. Hehehe...

I can't believe that you would equate finding money to soliciting sexual acts with children. Make your case about police stepping over the line, but you stepped over the line on that one.

Me thinks we need to investigate this asst. dist. atty. Cynthia Preiser and see who she has donated money to in the past. We should also watch to see where she lands after this firing. YOU can BET she will be going to those that put the kybosh on this case and say " hey you better take care of me..."
