The death of a 30-year-old woman who lapsed into a coma for six years following a botched abortion at a Queens clinic has been declared a homicide, police said yesterday.

Francisca Gomez was 24 when she went to the clinic, at 92-11 Roosevelt Ave., in Jackson Heights, for her third abortion, police said.

During the procedure, police said, something went wrong and Gomez was rushed to Elmhurst General Hospital. She died last June 12.

The cause of her death is still not clear, police said, but the ME now says Gomez’s death is a homicide.

Oh, there was a homicide, all right. However, this sounds like a murder-suicide case, to me (involving two serial killers and an assisted suicide, at that!).

The pill is a lot cheaper.

...and just as reliable as the person taking it.

Abortion 'clinics' are such a rich target for tort law!

No matter how personally murderous an attorney may be, how can he resist an opportunity to extract money from a source as ripe for the picking as this one?

And if something like half of any potential jury is pro-death you simply wrap the suit up in nice ribbons, praise the death machine in general, but rail that THIS case is somehow exceptional, and deserving of redress.

Hell... If the bastard's insured, SETTLE. And they will settle. A jury's predictable hatred of insurance companies is one of the certainties of life that butters every tort lawyer's bread.

"Francisca Gomez was 24 when she went to the clinic, at 92-11 Roosevelt Ave., in Jackson Heights, for her third abortion."

My wife had a co-worker in the early '80's that had two beautiful kids, been married 5 or 6 years and her husband was a rather successful, (I didn't like him). She had 4 abortions during the 3 years my wife worked with her.

I didn't understand then nor do I now, how she could do that. She didn't have a good answer for the wife either. It was "my husband doesn't want anymore kids or we can't afford it". When the wife said why not use some birth control method, she would just shrug her shoulders. Sick.

Botched abortions are either impossible or the ultimate oxy-moron.

If this idjet coroner is not overturned, expect to see Doctors charged with Homicide every time a patient dies.

Talk about soaring malpractice insurance and Doctor shortages.

The article is unclear about whether or not the homicide ruling stems from the botched abortion (which I think is implied) or from someone else.

There was an intentional homicide before she died of the negligent homicide.

But, leaving that aside, the medical community bills abortion as a wonderfully safe elective "procedure".

When a healthy 24 year old woman goes in for an elective procedure and dies - someone deserves to pay the price.

Plus, anything contributing to an abortionist shortage is fine by me.

I believe most states still follow the common law rule that you can't be prosecuted for murder unless the victim days within a year and a day from your action that caused the death.

"Butters every Tort lawyers bread."

and eventually stains every Tort lawyers toilet paper. Abortionists and attorneys live high on the hog on the highway to hell.

Disgusting, and sad. Too bad she didn't exercise the real "choice", which is whether or not to keep your legs shut. Homicide #4.

"...and eventually stains every Tort lawyers toilet paper. Abortionists and attorneys live high on the hog on the highway to hell..."

Right as rain.

But, for the time being, not a lot can be done to dispose of either of them.

In the interim, while we wait for an intersection of inspiration and opportunity to manifest itself, it seems a shame not to use the damn lawyers (perhaps the marginally lesser of the two evils) to rip our enemies, the baby butchers, a new one.

Using your enemies, and turning some coin in the process, counts coup on them like little else.
