Don't know who 'John Vara' is, but he is obviously a freeper. Cavuto just read an email from him citing the 'axis of weasels'.

Is this related to the allegations floating around that Chirac received a personal, direct payoff from Hussein? What was last week's German link?

Colmes seems like a genuinely decent guy that's been left behind by a Democrat machine turned more Marxist.
To: ellery
If the guest is Richard Perle or someone close to him, this evening's show will be a blockbuster! Even Colmes will be bowled over. And regarding Colmes, I find him exasperating most of the time because of his seething liberal bias, but he does his homework even if he spins it into the unrecognizable.

"Axis of Weasels" -- I think Juan Williams used it on Fox News Sunday this week or last. Doubt if it was original with him, though.

Colmes aint all that bad...at least he sticks to his principals He is that bad, and he doesn't stick to his "principles." Evidence: He claims he's "anti-war", and that's the main reason he's not backing Bush's policy towards Iraq. But he jumped on Clinton's Kosovo War bandwagon without hesitation ....as well as Slick's '98 "Opeation Desert Fox" bandwagon. Colmes is a typical partisan hack, and doesn't have a principled bone in his body.

The best show (by far) on FOX News is Special Report with Brit Hume. It's so superior, in fact, that I rarely watch anything else anymore. John Gibson's show is good, and Shep is OK if I'm in the mood for a constant stream of in-your-face bright lights and loud music. But H&C and O'Reilly are mostly just screamfests these days. Hannity parrots the same themes day after day, and O'Reilly fancies himself bigger than the news. (Rarely does he get through a show without a mention of how important he thinks he is).

I'm a conservative, but I have a hard time stomaching Sean Hannity. He often does a pretty lousy job of presenting the conservative view in a convincing manner. Too many sound bites and ad hominem attacks for me. Sometimes, he just doesn't get the point the liberal is trying to make, and so does a lousy job refuting it.
I don't mind Colmes as much. He seems a decent, if misguided guy. He's wrong, of course, but sometimes he's dead on when he points out unfairness or inconsistencies in Hannity's opinions.
And yes, I hold conservatives to a higher standard than liberals because we're usually right and so it should be much easier to craft a solid argument.

FOX News with Brit Hume is a superior news show, but I don't think you can compare it to the other show like O'Reilly and Hannity and Colmes because they are more of a discussion and opinion forums.
FOX News Watch is one of the best shows on cable television.
To: XJarhead
I agree with your assesment of Hannity...he just fires off these broadsides in an attempt to make liberals look like fools instead of pumching holes in their arguements...
Gretta does a good job somtimes on the legal issues...and her guests are usually very good...

The last third of Brit's show - the Fox News All-Stars - is a discussion/opinion forum, and he usually interviews one very distinguished and/or intelligent guest in the first half hour. ...So it's not a pure news show.

XJarhead, you're off base on Hannity. He is right on the money, most of the time. I like the way he doesn't give the lefties an inch of ground. Sean is Great in my book. I can't see how you can call yourself a conservative and say that about Sean ON TOP of your comment about Colmes!! Decent?????? He is a sick liberal. Maybe we need to check your conservative credentials.

they and the germans have been selling them aluminum tubes used in nuclear production...huge oil contracts Hmmmm, they were talking about "commercial contracts" on FOX during lunch hour today. My impression was they were hinting at buildings and construction, not military. France, Germany, and Russia are supposedly owed billions by Saddam. nuclear production... military ties by these cheezballs could prove very interesting!
I will be watching H&C mit great attention. Thanks for the headsup!
