Bill O'Reilly Sept 11 Mistake?
Posted on 01/27/2003 8:40:36 PM PST by ConservativeMan55
I was just watching Bill O'Reilly arguing with one of these "Not in our name" activists. Bill was saying that it is offensive to compare the victims of 911 to those who died in Iraq during the Gulf War. The 'Not in our name' activists compared 911 to the Gulf War, and Vietnam.
The activist responded by saying that he had signatures from heroes on Sept 11. O'Reilly asked who, and the guy said
"Well look here Jeremy Glick signed the petition" said the activist.
Then O'Reilly says not once but several times..."Well if this Jeremy Glick guy signed it we are going to have to get him on"
"Were going to find this Jeremy Glick guy and get him on the program" says O'Reilly again.
Excuse me, didn't Jeremy Glick die on Sept 11, on Flight 93????

Well, yes he did. So Bill caught the guy in an outright fib.
Probably Hillary got him to sign the petition. After all, she talks to Eleanor Roosevelt.

Jeremy Glick

Jeremy Glick, 31 of West Milford, N.J., was flying on business for a sales and marketing company, and managed to telephone his wife, Lyz, after terrorists took over, said his uncle Tom Crowley. Glick's wife conferenced the call to a 911 dispatcher, who told Glick about attacks in New York, which had taken place earlier. Glick's sister, Jennifer, said her brother and some other passengers stormed the hijackers and apparently got into the cockpit. The University of Rochester graduate was a national collegiate judo champion. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Emerson; his parents; three brothers, and two sisters.

Vividence is deeply saddened by the passing of Jeremy Glick, a top performing sales manager for the company. Jeremy was one of the heroic passengers aboard United Flight 93 who reportedly forced the plane to crash in rural Pennsylvania during the terrorist attack on Tuesday, September 11. Jeremy was 31 years old and is survived by his wife, Lyzbeth Glick, and 12-week-old daughter, Emerson.
Jeremy joined Vividence in May 2000 and was consistently a top performer within the organization. Prior to Vividence, Jeremy worked for Giga Information Group where he was the leading sales representative. Jeremy was an avid athlete and a national collegiate judo champion.
"It was an incredible honor to know and work with someone of Jeremy's caliber, a true hero in every sense," said Jeff Greenberg, CEO of Vividence. "Jeremy will be deeply missed by all of his friends and colleagues at Vividence. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jeremy's family and all who have suffered personal loss during this terrible tragedy."
Jeremy will be deeply and sadly missed.

I'm not sure why O'Reilly didn't recognize his name. I sure did!
Somebody's gotta e-mail O'Reilly or get another look at the show. It should rerun itself again tonight.
To: ConservativeMan55
If I'm not mistaken, they were talking about Glick's father.
I think.

The Part about realizing Jeremy Glick died was my commentary.
O'Reilly never took note of what he said.
To: Pokey78
What is Jeremy Glick's father's name? I never heard them say father or family. All I heard was Jeremy Glick a hero on Sept 11 signed our petition.
To: ConservativeMan55
I am watching this and am thinking....."he was such a prominent (for lack of a better word) figure in this unspeakable tragedy...what page is O'Reilly on?"

To: ConservativeMan55
I have it TiVO'ed, he absolutely positively said it.
I can't believe these commies are spitting on the graves of 9/11 victims...
On second thought, yes I can. I'm sure the irony of using Jeremy Glick's name in a campaign called "Not in My Name" was entirely lost of these crass b@st@rds.
Tomorrow's Factor is going to be VERY interesting.

Jeremy Glick Jr wasn't even born on Sept 11. His wife was pregnant at the time. He couldn't have signed the petition. He would only be a year or two old.

On the petition is the following name.
Jeremy Matthew Glick, co-editor of Another World Is Possible
Maybe it's a relative?

On one hand I can't imagine O'Reilly messing up the name. On the other hand, I can't imagine someone related to Jeremy Glick woud sign such an offensive petition.

Go to O'Reilly's website. The petition link is there with the name Jeremy Glick, big as life, along with the usual suspects. The kid and O'Reilly are right, and the kid did say it was a close relative, so I guess it is the father.

With my memory problems I guess I can cut O'Reilly some slack on this one. :-) Like somehow he's instantly supposed to remember all of the 9/11 victims names? But what I find odd is how O'Reilly thinks the whole world is supposed to line up to come on his show or they are somehow chicken. He makes a big deal if they won't come on the program. I think I've had enough of this blowhard for one lifetime. It must be hard for people that full of themselves to even try to submit to Christ.

Good Evening All-
Guys, it is the "peace activist" who is confused! I'm sure Bill O'Reilly realizes that Jeremy Glick was on Flight 93.
As mentioned, he caught the sissypants hippie in a lie.
Regards,

To: caspera
Jeremy Glick's father signed the petition? Maybe he didn't know what he was reading, or was mistaken about their cause.
To: warfrat
Jeremy Matthew Glick is the editor a magazine called "Another World is Possible".
There is absolute nothing to indicate that he's related in any way to the hero from Flight 93.
Shameful. Absolutely shameful.
Looking into the magazine now...

So the peace activist was trying to make it look like Jeremy Glick signed the petition? How sick!!!
To: warfrat
I remember seeing some relatives of 911 victims on a show expressing anti-war sentiments, I don't recall their names, but more than one family.
To: Blue Jays
Got a hunch you're right, Blue Jays. O'Reilly just wanted to keep digging it deeper so knowledgable viewers would know the guest was full of it.
To: ConservativeMan55
Looks like this Jeremy Glick is a black-panther, race-relations activist as well conveniently sharing a name with a heroic victim of 9/11. O'Reilly knew exactly what he was doing and will call this man out!

Beka Economopoulos volunteers at the Salvation Army and the Arab-American Family Support Center. Jeremy Glick teaches at Rutgers University and fields questions from students about what it was like to lose his father in the World Trade Center. Luis Sanchez works with youth in East LA who are happy for the first time not to be the targets of immigrant-bashing. Jee Kim is part of and works with immigrant communities of color in New York, one of the groups most devastated by 9/11 and least represented in media coverage of the tragedy. Walidah Imarisha grew up on military bases, resides in North Philly, and feels that living in a time of terror is nothing new. Shaffy Moeel watched the tragedy on TV from South Africa, where everyone wanted to know what she felt -as an AmericanÇ then returned to California to find she was more "other" than ever.

Jeremy Matthew Glick is a apparently a Rutger's university professor who lost his father in the World Trade Center.
NOT Flight 93.
Just a strange coincidence, I suppose.
Still shameful that the kid's willing to exploit his father's death to promote his Stalinist agenda.

O'Reilly also said he thought it was "outrageous" or "horrible" or something similar that the U.S. uses TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT of the world's oil. *gasp*
Well Bill, what's wrong with that?? It's not like we steal it! We also produce 60% of the world's food and we share it, as well as medical and industrial technology with the rest of the world.
O'Reilly really gets on my last nerve lately. Especially when he blasts Christians. He is clueless about religion.

OMG, I can't believe it!! I didn't know that man had been killed! I watched the show and O'Rielly was so upset with their ad that he said to come to his site and voice your opinions about it.
I haven't read all the replies and someone else has probably said this already. I'm going to go to his site myself!!

OReilly told the kid that he couldn't believe that anyone that lost a loved one in the Trade Centers would sign such a letter. The kid came back with Jeremy Glick who lost a son in the towers.
