President Lincoln could have been talking about September 11th here. The truly transcendent speeches are timeless. Tonight's speech was wonderful, but the format of a SOTU somewhat ties its content to specifics, making it somewhat less powerful later on, read out of context. It was exceptionally well-delivered, however. And for a SOTU, it was pitch-perfect.
I don't expect the entire SOTU to become as widely known as the entire G address is known, but there are plenty of lines that can be pulled out and made into little snippets that explain what America is really about.
The sad thing is that as long as the RATs control our education systems, the likelihood of later generations learning the wisdom presented tonight is limited. Only those few with involved parents of the correct mindset will be privy to it.
