Maher is a guy who lacks any discernible talent, is never funny, and whose views are entirely left-conventional. Ask me Maher's view on any issue, and I can tell you Maher's position without knowing him. What makes him extraordinarily boring is that he thinks that it's provocative to parrot the Democrat 2000 platform. It doesn't make for very interesting TV. His one contribution to the left was to try to spin the term "politically correct" as eminating from the right.

Miller is another former leftist of the George Orwell-Christopher Hitchens school who is a conservative, but who hasn't figured it out yet. He doesn't possess Hitchens' IQ (he's bright enough), but he's figured out it's not in his interest to be "dirty bombed" by bin Laden, "sarined" by Saddam Hussein, car bombed by Hamas, hosed down with an assault rifle by the PLO, or knifed by a junkie. That's an epiphany. So is getting your tax bill after buying your first house. Real estate tax statements have created more conservatives than Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan combined.
