You really should be calm Tom; you've been dead going on 200 years now. Indeed, I believe when you were alive you eyed Canada a few times yourself. But a lot has changed since you died. We almost invaded Canada at the end of the civil war; it was a near thing.

As for myself, I have no personal desire to invade Canada. I wouldn't want to take on the economic burden it would impose on us...besides they do strange things to french fries.

Tom, they put cheese curds on their french fries then cover them in gravy. They pay out half their earnings in taxes so they can wait two weeks to see a doctor with a cold. No doubt that Western Canada is America North at present, but the eastern media portrays a dramatic shift to the right and I believe our next election will reflect this.Vancouver is my home town and a great City. The lunatic fringe is concentrated in a small area in the Cental core, dominated by East Van. These kooks focus on how to beat the system and get more welfare, are concerned about the ebb and flow of the pot supply and the availability of part time employment enabling them to spend most of their waking hours in a haze, lying naked on Wreck Beach. Tom, you really need to get out of the grave more often. A hell of a lot has changed. If you want to see happy Canadians turn on your TV, listen to some music, go see a movie, watch the news. Canadians are everywhere; news anchors, actors, singers, etc.

Check out the last superbowl. More Canadians performed at it then Americans. And why are all those Canadians down here instead of anchoring the news up there, making movies up there, starring in TV shows up there?

Despite tweaking the fun of tweaking the dead president on this thread, I agree with a lot of what you say.

I actually have reason to get up there relatively often. My wife and I actually prefer to stay over at the Longsdale Quay then I take the water bus over into the city. Mass transit there is excellent and could well be used as a model for many U.S. cities. There are many nice areas in Vancouver and North Vancouver (the nuclear free city) area. I agree with downtown, although we love the main library...but seeing people in China town lying in allys with needles in their arms is a little disgusting.

We also enjoy Hope, Nanimo and Victoria (we watched the politiest drug bust ever happen in front of us in a Victoria park).

I'm goofy because you want to attack Canada. People on this thread attack all Canadians because of some Canadians. And I'm goofy.

Why not start slinging a whole bunch more of personal attacks and finish it off? Don't worry, the posting guidelines only apply to some, you will be immune from sanction I'm guessing.

The poster doesn't retract, I guess that means he is serious about attacking your homeland. If you agree that you need liberating, maybe you can sign up as a spy for the US. It is the only logical thing to do, throw off your oppressors with the help of the liberators of Canadians.
