I like Canadians. It's your government that's tough to take. Somebody will be right up to take care of those PCB's, etc., right after the unpleasantness with the Axis of Evil is over.

Someone with the name of Bismark should learn some history before mouthing off. There was no Canadian neutrality. Canada legally entered a state of belligerancy September 3, 1939 when the Empire went to war against Germany but Canada independently declared war on September 10, 1939. That same month, the Canadian Prime Minister proposed the British Commonwealth Air Trainintg Plan, which was signed in December and pilots began training almost immediately in 1940. Canada established airfields all over the country and trained thousands of aircrew from Canada, Britain, Australia , New Zealand and escaped nationals of occupied Europe.
Your remarks denegrate this effort and the Canadian pilots who fought in the Battle of Britain while the US was neutral.
It is fair to say that many US nationals crossed into Canada to join the Canadian and British forces while the US was still neutral (much as many Canadians joined US forces during Viet Nam) and it is fair to say that US Navy "neutrality patrols" were very helpful before the US entered the war.
Sometimes the extreme ethnocentrism and stereotyping of a neighbor displayed on Free Republic is a bit hard to take.
We have our loony left, but the US is not exempt.

There is one thing I will say about the U.S. and terrorism - if these people want to see what real terror is, then they should get on the wrong side of the U.S. military. The U.S. is right and their military action is justified, but for sheer terror or "terrorism," nothing can top the hell that will reign down on enemies of the U.S. And while this woman is a wacko she still is in the same category as the terrorists, because she's aiding and abetting them. I consider opposing the U.S. the same as supporting Iraq, just as Jane Fonda did with North Vietnam. So this woman is an enemy of the U.S. and if she gets in this country, needs to be arrested and sent to Cuba and tried by military tribunal. Remember what our President said, you are either with us or with the terrorists.

Our mission is to draw attention to the fact that there are weapons of mass destruction -- for example, about 15,000 nuclear warheads -- in the United States So since when has this been a secret? The US has said how many nukes it has many times. Has this dodo ever heard of the SALT talks?
And Bush has said how far he will reduce the number.
If we could get Saddam to be as open about how many he has, then maybe there would be more reason for discussion.

My apologies, bismark.
In my anger I took a shot at the wrong person.
I was reacting to elbucko's post, not yours.

She and all of the Canuks have been sleeping very well because of Malmstrom and F.E.Warren. There have been a lot of young Americans awake and watching radar screens and on duty in Missle Silos, that allowed them to sleep in peace.

It's your government that's tough to take. What ,this is a revelation? It's old news to those of us who read this board.
NORAD exists because of the USA and Canada. It's not, nor was it ever, a singular effort. I know most Americans are not aware that on 9/11 it was a Canadian, stationed and on duty in Cheyenne, that briefed Bush and Cheney on the situation that morning, live. That was my point. The DEW line existed to warn the US. For Canada it would be too late. As for the PCBs and other junk, a deal ( including $100 million worth of military equipment from Boeing??) has been made, promised, ignored. We're cleaning it up. I can't help but wonder who would have cleaned up had Bomarc been used. Likely the worms.

In the first place, Canada declared war on Germany one week after Britain did.
The British Commonwealth Air Training Program was training RAF pilots in Canada while the USA sat neutral.
Your assertions are not supported by the facts.
