The Islamic Mindset

By Hal Lindsey

The Islamic Ruling Committee in Al Azhar, based in Cairo, ruled that Islamic states must acquire nuclear weapons for their defense, this according to the World Tribune.com.

One of the members of Islam’s highest ruling Committee, Sheik Ala A-Shanawi, went on to say, “The founder of Islam, Mohammad, would have acquired a nuclear bomb to fight his enemies.” This statement sounds more ‘offensive’ than ‘defensive’, wouldn’t you say?

Sheik A-Shanawi is no minor cleric in the Sunni Muslim’s highest authority for application of Islamic law. When he gives a ruling, he represents the official position of the Sunni Ruling Committee, which is headed by Sheik Al Hassan.

According to Sheik Al Hassan, “Getting to know the enemy and realizing the different was to deal with it is a religious obligation. If a neighboring county is known to posses a nuclear weapon, then we must do all in our power to do the same.”

Again, speaking for the Islamic Ruling Committee, A-Shanawi announced, “All Islamic nations are required to seize nuclear weaponry, giving the nation the utmost respect. We see how far behind our nation is as a result of not being prepared as well as it should be, while the enemy has equipped itself with the best weaponry there is, which it will use to harm and destroy Muslims.”

Who Is the Enemy?

It is very important to clarify just whom Islam views as ‘the enemy’. As far as the Koran, which is the absolute final word for Islam, is concerned, all infidels or unbelievers are the enemy. This is especially applied to those identified by Islam as Christian or Jewish. Although most Americans today do not think of the United States as a Christian nation, the Muslims do. And they see us as the chief helper of their ultimate enemy, Israel. We are regarded as “The Great Satan”, which is a name reserved for the supreme enemy of Islam.

So when a ruling cleric declares, “they must acquire nuclear bombs to fight the enemy”, it is imperative we translate that to particularly mean the United States and Israel.

Saddam, Hero of Muslim Masses

While the United States gears up to launch a war to insure that Saddam Hussein does not acquire nuclear weapons, The view of official Islam is that he has not only the right, but a ‘religious obligation’ to obtain them.

The United States and the West must learn how official Muslim clerics think, or we will perish under nuclear rubble.

The ‘Muslim street’, which is the title usually applied to the Muslim masses, pay infinitely more attention to what the ruling clerics say than they do to the political rulers of their countries.

For instance, the Imams and Clerics in Egypt set the thinking of Egyptians much more than President Hosni Mubarak. The same think can be said of the Jordanians, Saudis, the Turks, etc. This is why these so-called ‘Moderate Muslim rulers’ cannot openly back the United States on our proposed war with Saddam Hussein. They cannot even let us use their bases.

Nuclear Suicide Bombers

When you factor into this equation what many ruling clerics teach – that those who give their lives as suicide bombers are the eternal heroes of Islam – destined to spend eternity in Paradise with 72 virgins and the most lavish mansions from Allah, you begin to get the idea of what a formidable danger we face.

A nuclear-armed Muslim suicide bomber who kills a few million ‘infidels’ would be considered among the highest in the pantheon of Muslim martyrs. This is what most Muslims think – not just those who are officially part of Al Qaeda.

Every general in a war knows that there is no chance of winning and surviving unless you fully recognize at least three things:

First, who is your real enemy? Second, what is the source of his thinking and motivation? Third, from where and how will he attack?

Not all Muslims, thank God, are our enemies. But virtually all of our enemies are Muslim – especially Muslim men between the ages of 18 to 45 years old.

They are hidden among the 'moderate' Muslims in this country. Therefore, it is insane not to use our limited resources to the fullest on profiling and carefully watching all Muslims and Mosques. If this is done prudently, it will verify who are our Muslim friends and who are our enemies.

Time is not on our side. And unfortunately, even our good leaders are very resistant to recognize the truth about Islam. They should listen to what one of Islam’s own great scholars wrote.

Zarin Koub, former head of the department of history and religion at University of Tehran, wrote, “From the beginning, its [Islam’s] spread was accomplished through physical violence, bloodshed and war. Violence not only against non-Muslim infidels, but also against fellow Muslims. Much of Islam’s spread in the world was the result of traders and Sufi missionaries, this is true. Yet he weaponry—scimatars and sabers—all through the art and symbolism of Islam, makes violence and war a central theme of Islam … Mohammad both taught and practiced violence from the beginning.”

A true Muslim follows Mohammad and the Koran. So let’s forget this non-sense that Islam is basically religion of peace before we are destroyed by its ‘peaceful’ followers.

Why, why, WHY do they keep making us kill them? These people are so insane. They want peace, everyone keeps saying. The part everyone leaves out is that to them, there will only be peace when Islam rules the world. So it isn't peace they want. It is global domination. A Muslim man once told me that there would come a day when Sharia law was used by the US, the hijab would replace the bikini, and all kafirs and infidels would be killed or subjugated. His eyes shown with delight as he described this future scenario. I told him sorry to burst his bubble, but Americans wouldn't accept Islam or Sharia--ever. He informed me that once Muslims got a majority in the US, we couldn't stop it. I just laughed and told him that if it ever came down to that, Americans would just start killing people.

He shut up. Ha Ha!!

Moderate Muslims do want peace but they believe there can only be peace after the entire world is following the Koran. What they mean by peace isn't what we mean.

Whenever an old history professor of mine would give a mediocre grade, he would usually console the student with "Don't feel too bad: worse has been published." Hal Lindsey is an excellent example of why that consolation is still true.

On this topic, Lindsey's assertions are essentially correct, but his style is little more than a high school senior's, who has skimmed through a number of books to research an important English paper. The article is typical of Lindsey: his basic claims are posited, rather than investigated.

He demonstrates no deep historical knowledge about that in which he claims expertise, rather, he substitutes enthusiasm and pithy sound bites for analysis. As such, he does not deserve the praise he enjoys as a fountainhead of knowledge. He is little more than a popularizer and propagandist of American Evangelical Christian Zionism.

Here Lindsey demonstrates his real historical ignorance, particularly of Turkey. Imams and Clerics in Turkey are under constant government surveillance, and oft times find themselves in prison for attempting to gain political influence.

Unfortunately, Lindsey's mindset, and the ignorance it represents, is very influential for Americans who are concerned with Islamist terrorists and the Mid East in general.

Lots more than your leftist history prof!

You seem to have this "thing" for Muslims for example I have seen your fascination with Muslim Turkish ideology all over this website.

BOTTOM LINE: Hal Lindsay is heads and shoulders more aware and cognizant of Muslim ideology and what it has done to Christians since it reared its ugly head than all your history profs put together!

All you have to do is read the first hand accounts of Christian victims at the bloddy hands of Muslims...

It is difficult to respond civilly to such malignant addle-headedness such as yours, nevertheless, for the casual observer, I will try:

Islam is a psychopathic state of mind masquerading as a religion. Turkey ridded her government of their influence in the Twenties, making religion a purely private affair, and has been fighting these Islamist nutballs ever since.

Most Turks are Muslims in the same way most French are Catholic, which is the way things should be.

Your other posts, eleni121, may be be described as incessant howls for Turkish blood. This elemental bloodlust of yours transcends history, politics, ideology, and religion. If the Turks didn't exist, you'd have to invent them to relieve yourself of some warped need you have to blight and destroy. Sort of like Sultan Murad IV, come to think of it.

Turkey ridded her government of their (MUSLIM -my clarification) influence in the Twenties,

WRONG again and again. TURKEY RIDDED ITSELF OF MILLIONS OF CHRISTIANS IN THE TWENTIES TO ADD THEIR SOULS TO THE MILLIONS BUTCHERED BY TURKS SINCE THEIR APPEARANCE IN ASIA MINOR. Before that there were several million Christians still alive in turkey. After the 20's there were a few thousand. Turks are not secular! Only their mafia state is and that is only superficial. To believe in the myth of Turkish secularism is to believe in the tooth fairy.

I will not reply to your personal insults...suffice it to say that it seems apparent by now that anti Christians are the first to throw stones. In your vehement support of 99.999% islamic Turkey you insult the memories of millions of innocent men women and children of the Christian faith who were butchered by Islamic Turks.
