I understand what you are implying. But that's not we are looking at. The image shows what appears to be smooth equally shaped and tapered wings. Would wings snap off symetrically in a smooth manner to appear to match the original shuttle profile? I don't think so.

It strikes me that it would be possible that there's an aspect of the symmetrical internal structural arrangement of the wings that could yeild a snap-off point that would result in the same shape on both broken wings.
And I don't think that you could say anything is "smooth" based on this video.
