Where is the Hollywood elite now?(Vanity)

Where are all the celebs who have been out before the cameras for the last month blasting our President and his effort to protect us from potential catastrophic attack by a madman. I have not heard a single Hollywood or TV person commenting on the terrible event which happened today...no condolences, no regrets, nothing. The silence from the extreme left is deafening. Is it perhaps that this doesn't fit into thier agenda? Or are they so far removed from reality that they just don't care. Of course, I'm so tired of hearing thier anti-war banter that I find relief that, for a change, for the moment, they are keeping thier big mouths shut. But I just can't help thinking how this displays thier true colors and amplifies the real Socialist reterick they spew.

Even so, this points out the hypocrisy and selfishness of the left.

Where are all the celebs who have been out before the cameras for the last month blasting our President... Maybe they have the good common sense to allow people to mourn privately instead of using this disaster that touches us all for political grandstanding.

There was to have been some sort of special "View of Hollywood" report (aka garbage) on CNN today. I saw it scheduled early this morning. But of course everything was since pre-empted.
Celebs Prolly got their noses out of joint because their gig was "cancelled".

They are waiting for the mourning to die down so they can formulate a "Bush knew" theory.

Most of the glitterati these days, appear to be a pack of snapping jackals.
To: Paul Atreides
Exactly. They are huddling big-time today, trying to figure out WHEN would be the most opportune time to come out and say, "WE had NO DISASTERS in the Clinton administration. The space shuttles worked just fine, and we were not attacked on our own soil either." Hillary will be trying to finger some Bush appointee as being the incompetent one. Good ole white boys cronyism, you know.
To: Cookie123
Not to mention, that they, and the DU'ers, will be formulating their theories that Bush had the crew offed to blame it on Iraq.
To: Cookie123
I have just been waiting for someone in media to remind us that the other shuttle loss happened on President Reagon's watch. I can't believe they don't remember that so well delivered speech he gave. It was very inspiring.if the

Meaning no disrespect to the astronauts or their families I find it interesting that the media has spent an entire day covering this...and I haven't seen ONE picture or heard ONE story about any of our military personnel who have been killed in recent weeks. They get a little blurb on the hourly update. I'm sure their hometowns must have covered them some how but certainly not the national media.

I know what you're saying. This was indeed a national tragedy - but the loss of life of every American who is defending our country is also a national tragedy. Unfortunately, there is a mystique about astronauts that just isn't there for the rank and file military.
I was reminded of this when a Freeper earlier today brought up the four fine young military men who lost their lives earlier this week in a Blackhawk helicopter accident in Afghanistan.
The families of those heroes are grieving just as badly as the families of the astronauts, but they don't have the comfort of knowing that the entire nation is grieving for them as well.

Yeah, I forgot. They have to be told by thier leadership how they feel.

Let me play liberal here:*
Think of all the welfare we could have distributed and votes we could have bought in the last election with all that NASA money.
The shuttle uses more fuel than an SUV.
The shuttle contributes to global warming, rising sea level, and ozone depletion.
If our poorest countries can't have shuttles then no one should have them.
Space is just another place for Bush to launch "nucular" bombs on Iraq.
We should use the shuttle's hydrazine fuel as the next clean fuel for cars.
If we can send a man to the moon, why can't we send them all?
We need to have quotas on shuttle rides. If the average person can't ride on one affordably, then we need more taxes and set up a program.
Bush had the shuttle destroyed to divert attention from his war agenda.
*for those deprived of a sense of sarcasm, I am making fun of liberals.
To: GreyWolf
Is it perhaps that this doesn't fit into thier agenda? It very much fits into their agenda, they are just trying to figure out the timing as to when they can introduce the notion we *can't afford* the space program, it's *not safe* (God forbid any American should choose a career that is not *safe*!), and need we to redirect spending back to their social re-programming of America.
Or something like that.

Thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this. I did think that the fact the debris landed over half of Texas, and parts of OK, LA etc. added to the coverage. If this had happened someplace on the other side of the globe the coverage would be different. I agree, there is a mystique with the space program. Have to say I have it myself. Saw the first shuttle on its way home when it piggy backed and landed at Tinker Air Force Base in OK. The plane flew right over our house and it was sooooo cool! All the deaths are tragedies. Guess I just feel those who are dying for my freedom deserve more then they ever get.

One of the NASA spokesmen this morning made it clear just what he thought of those who would condemn this great country of ours.......he said it all.I missed what he said. I was getting a hair cut and in fact first heard about the missing shuttle on an all news radio station on the way into town. They had FNC on in the barbershop but I could barely hear it above the conversation. What did the NASA spokesman say?

Where is the Hollywood elite now? Six Americans and one Israeli died today.
Hollyweird hates America and generally dislikes Israel, since Israel is a close ally of America.
So -- they just don't give a fat rat's a$s....At least not until they figure out a way to BLAME George W. Bush for the disaster - then, you won't be able to shut them up!!

To: roob
You know, after I pushed the button I remembered another:
The death rate on the shuttle is even higher than for SUVs.
To: GreyWolf
That because no dimwitted organization has been created to combat shuttle accidents !
Actually these hollywood dimwits are so shallow their prolly thinking that the deaths were deserved because we shouldnt be disturbing the enviroment of SPACE!
Then again i could be wrong but that dont make them any less ignorant.

Sometimes the word "hero" has lost its impact due to its being used to describe so many different things. Let me give you the TRUE meaning of that word ...
HERO: Mystery-ak's husband and others like him.
God bless and protect them all.

"Sometimes the word 'hero' has lost its impact due to its being used to describe so many different things."So you've noticed this phenomenon as well, eh?
I seem to recall Peggy Noonan's essay commending ALL the victims of 9/11 as "heroes" merely their sheer unfortunate presence in the Twin Towers that fateful day.
With all due respect to Peggy Noonan and others, the gratuitious connotation of word "hero" should not simply be applied to those who die prematurely by accident -- however tragic.
Yes, let's reserve and redefine "hero" as those who courageously sacrifice, and lay it on the line for others regardless of their own personal safety.

"They are waiting for the mourning to die down so they can formulate a "Bush knew" theory" Where were you Paul? Over at the DUh, not only did they have that theory within the hour, but some of these morons actually had the gaul to say he engineered it! Not sure if the DU tends to be the sequel or the prequel, but when it somes to the Hollywood nitwits, there is really very little diference; where one goes can the other be far behind?
