Infamous 'Preppie Killer' set to leave prison

NEW YORK (AP) - For 17 years, the family of Jennifer Levin has learned to live without the beloved teen who was strangled in Central Park: missed birthdays, anniversaries, holidays. This Valentine's Day, the Levin family must endure a new form of agony: the release of Jennifer's killer.

At a 1995 parole hearing, Chambers expressed no remorse about the crime. "I guess I could also give you the party line and say I have learned my lesson, I will never do this again," Chambers said. "But that's not how I feel at this moment."
What's your problem, in '95 he seemed to be reformed... Another reason why I support the death penalty.

He was sentenced to the maximum for manslaughter - 15 years.

He would have been eligible for release in 10 if he had kept his nose clean.

His other offenses added seven years to his jail time. If he had been a model prisoner he would have served half the time.

Billy Baldwin played the killer in the TV movie.

Steve Dunleavy of the NY Post did ALOT of articles about this and even had a cameo in the movie, it was major news in NYC when it happend.

The penalty for murder in the Bible is Death. He should have died for his crime long ago. And since he seems to have no remorse for what he did, he will really be a danger to society now. Perhaps worse.

Soon he'll be dead or back in prison. hope if he is returned to prison it won't be because he killed another person.

The prosecutor, Linda Fairstein, remarked that Chambers was doing a lot more to help him stay behind bars than Fairstein ever could've done. All those violations he racked up in prison.
