The evil hubby was Charles Boyer, that most french of frenchmen (can not bring myself to capitalize the place or the people!)
A case of typecasting, no?
As for Mr. Wiener aka "Savage"...well, he's had it tough all those years in the affirmative action wasteland of academia & is getting his own back. As to his nom de mic', who would listen to some wrinkly old guy if he used a name that could only be pronounced like a synonym for hotdog or cry baby?

He's the product of Clear Channel Radio. We actually took Dr. Laura at my AM sister station over Mr. Beck. He's out of Orlando. CC has taken a lot of their local talkers in bigger markets and tried to syndicate them. They offer them as fill between Rush, Dr. Laura and Mike Reagan. That way, if you're a CC owned station, you're running 100% CC programming. When I worked for CC in Texas, we referred to them as "The Borg". As you well know, the "experiment" isn't going well.

Anyone listen to Phil Hendrie?

This guy used to be a die-hard Democrat, but since 9-11, he has certainly changed his views.

He's the son of an immigrant who bashes immigrants

From the start, this article spins and twists in the wind. Let's see how this phrase, for one, looks when adjusted for reality and truth. Ah, there we go...

"He's the son of a legal immigrant who bashes illegal immigrants."

Thanks for the feed back. We have a local forum, http://www.voy.com/13929/, complaining about the state of "talk radio". We would welcome your comments....!

"Bill Clinton? Regular guy. Cheated on his wife. Loved America. Happened to be phenomenally smart but wanted America to love him too much to make effective use of those smarts. Ended up bungling his presidency and being a loser. Whatever. The man has been out of office for THREE YEARS--and he ain't never coming back, and neither's his wife, you heard it here first--but there are still people, and i'm not mentioning any names, whose primary motivation for getting out of bed in the morning is to find a new way of hating the guy."

Actually it's only been a litle over two years that he's been out of office. And his name keeps coming up because he won't shut up and mind his business like most ex-presidents do. So as long as Big Dog wants to keep putting his....NOSE.....where it doesn't belong, he's still fair game for criticism of what he did to mees up this country for 8 years. When he shuts up and goes away, he'll fade into the distant memories of most everyone in the country as well.

Gives me a complex . . . audience // reality deprived - - - TELL IT LIKE IT IS // no holding nothing back ! ! !

Dude!?! Do you write for the SAT or something? Every time I see one of your posts, it's in some kind of crypto-analogy form. I teach in a poor rural school where the average kid thinks the conjugation of the verb "to be" is "I be, you be, he be, we be," and they still write more coherently than your posts!

Seriously, do you run your sentences through an English-to-Crack translator before you post? Most of us are here on Free Republic because we want to communicate with like-minded conservatives. Of course, "communication" requires that both parties actually understand what is being said. I feel like I'm doing word-puzzles in Cyrillic every time I try to read your writing.

Friend, from me to you (and people at both the high school and college levels have paid me lots of money for this kind of information): every sentence should have at least one Noun (a person place or thing) and one Verb (an action or state of being). Most sentences will include more nouns and adjectives to modify them, usually as the object of the action (the direct object) or in some other capacity. But, let's just start simple, and work on Subject - Verb - D.O., O.K.?

And remember, Jesus didn't do drugs... especially not before posting to FR.

MG, my dear, you are full of yourself. You think 'your' conservatism is better than everyone else's (of course you're not the only one on this forum with that destructive mindset). You flatter yourself into thinking that you are more thoughtful, that your anger is more righteous, than ours. Bah.

Yes, conservative anger predated Clinton. But if you think that if we're angry at him it's 'just about sex,' you are not thinking at all. You are not thinking about the gross abuse of power -- the blatant quid-pro-quo re White House access -- the self-enrichment schemes -- the outright theft of government property (up to and including using the perks of the presidency to get Hillary! elected). You're not thinking of the 500 FBI files, which are empowering Hillary and all the Clintonites in the DNC (such as Begala, Carvile and McAuliffe) to this day. You're not thinking of the money from China and how much of our national security it compromised. Remember, anyone who 'loathes the military' and decimates our defense does not love America.

And if you're not thinking about these things -- if you don't care about them -- you are not a conservative at all. "You heard it here first."

Form your own club and get your own website, since you obviously don't like ours! We won't miss you a bit!

Isn't it fascinating how the addition or subtraction of a couple words can change the entire context, meaning and tone of a sentence.

I had the pleasure of meeting Melanie Morgan (Hill) at the protest against the attempted Gore coup back in 2000. She seemed very pleasant.

Savage is good, I think. I have been listening to him since he was subbing late nights on KGO -- a pretty long time ago.

He's witty as heck, and has a knack for good sound bites. Most inspiring, he is as vicious and unfeeling as a good number of us will have to become in order to win the Big Game.

Mostly he hasn't changed over time. He's a genuine conservative.

Not a lot of people realize that a lot of Savage's anger goes back quite a bit further than the academic rejection that he suffered: Savage's father was a real tyrant. It's not the best example that he's given, I think, but he describes being viciously yelled at, and having to scrub antiques with a cyanide solution in the basement. Still, there are aspects of this man about which Savage is justifiably proud --the man's hard work, common-sense, and honesty, for example. As a conservative and a real man, however, he's too proud a man to boo-hoo about this important topic in any great detail, of course.

Seems like everyone thirsts for their Oprah moment ("THE OBSTACLES I'VE OVERCOME...!"), these days, and that Savage leaves this one thing off the table is part of why I like him.

Savage sometimes switches his opinions around, and I don't think he has much respect for the intelligence of the Average Joe --to him we are Yokels. More importantly, his own narrow success is much more important than to him than the success of conservativism as a whole, although he's hardly alone in this. Also, he works very, very hard to create an impression in the minds of his listeners that the whole house of cards of America's political culture is tumbling down --with Savage hoping to be seen by his listeners as their only hope. He is even something of an opportunist, hoping to feed the petty misgivings and gripes of his listeners. Rush, by contrast, is constantly trying to cast our times as being merrier than they sometimes actually are.

It's strange that Rush should suffer tarring as an oppotunistic hater with Michael around, but this has had the effect of tiring out the opposition some, wherupon they are set upon by the enthusiastically vicious Michael.

Savage will avoid some of Rush's mistakes. With his hatred of "Checked Pants", Savage will never breathe a word about Golf --I believe he has never touched a club in his life, and neither have I, in spite of the place I come from.

Savage also never gives out legislation bill numbers or lobbying group phone numbers, which, while perhaps helpful to conservativism in the short run does turn out to be a real Show Killer. Instead of treating lofty political themes, Savage will continue to shriek about The Pebbles in Our Shoe, and he will continue in his success.

People said that Rush is America's rightishly-inclined stereoisomer.

He's not.

Rush is logical, classy, Lilly white, patient, and enormously generous to his subordinates.

It is in the ethnic, short-tempered, artistically-inclined, uncompromising, and much more vicious, Michael that the American left sees its political reflection, and they are right to be afraid.

If Michael ever wins, rest assured that he will not be gentleman about it, and I am happy for it.

He comes across as a wanna be Rush and wants to make a quick buck off the popularity of Conservative Talk Radio.

It shows when he cannot follow thru on answers consistantly.

I would much rather see Reagan and Hamblen in the ratings slot in front of Savage.

He is like a Lib who morphed into a Conservative and did not quite complete the transformation.

Not all of us love you Savage.
