I have never realized it, but that expression makes no sense. Shouldn't it be, "I could not care less"?

Whatever! :)

Forgive the vanity but it's a slow day and I'm tired of waiting for the SaddamAttack so I've been lurking all over the FR today and find increasing use of the phrase "my bad" and was wondering what the hell people are talking about when they use it.

I'm glad you started this thread. The phrase "my bad" has been driving me nuts for months! At least you cleared up the mystery. I still hate the expression, though... IMHO it sounds incredibly stupid. Why can't these people just say: "my fault", "my mistake", "I'm sorry", etc. instead?

Sorry, my bad.

Can't you just say "Oops!" like the rest of us!

Go ahead and flame me and I promise I'll start on "route" and "rout" next!"

These people already did.

A favorite peeve from Art Bell, "My guest tonight has appeared any number of times on national radio shows".

My Mom, "It's always in the last place you look". No kidding. What point is there to looking further?

Mom again, "I'm not a young as I used to be". Who is?

High school English teacher declares the topic is IRREVELENT. It's irrelevant.

High school English teacher again, "Irregardless". No such word.

A public school grad writes "ECT", pronounces it "EKSETERA"...phonetics to ensure proper interpretation.

Local fitness boutique includes the word "Excersize" on the business shingle.

Sadly, "at the end of the day," your pleas are futile.

Why do golf analysts feel the need to add an "-I tell you what." to the end of every sentence:
"Tiger Woods just hit about as pretty a golf shot as you're ever gonna see -I tell you what."

"What the heck ever happened to "you're right" or "correct".

Probably replaced by "Amen" and "Hallelujah" ;-)
