AMERICA NEEDS TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! Hollywood manipulates the media with money power and influence. Point: Hollywood didnt speak out when our country was attaked. Hollywood didnt speak out when the Colombia crashed. Hollywood speaks out for foreign causes more than American causes. They refer to our troops as murderers. They dont support American Industry. THEY DONT SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS! They dont help you or me! .........Then they take your money! YOU SUPPRT THESE PEOPLE AND THEN THEY CALL YOU STUPID! THEY LOVE AMERICAN MONEY! NOT YOU! I say we Boycott ALL OF HOLLYWOOD! They make movies about violence and guns and then they speak out against the subject matters that support them! If they dont like guns or war, why do they glorify it? BOYCOTT ALL OF HOLLYWOOD! THEY THINK YOU ARE STUPID! amateur politicians!

Not ALL of Hollywood is bad.
Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, and Arnie Schwartzenegger, among others, are on our side - we should show them some support.

Settle down. There's plenty of examples on FR of Hollywood celebs on our side. Put away your broad brush and focus your attention on the Baldwins, Langes, and Sheens.

I didnt know about the boycott....but I will take part. I dont go to movies, nor do I watch network TV shows, anyway. I only buy country CDs (good thing, because most of Nashville is pro-US anyway....not that liberal anti-US stuff)

Yeay, yeay! I'm with ya! It'll be as successful as the boycott of Disney! That megaplex (as they now call them), opening in my neck of the woods in a week or so, will just go belly up in no time!
(Has this thread been ZOTted yet?)

Actually, Disney has been in trouble for years. I live in Florida, and while my contacts are mostly religious Christians, most everyone I know will NOT go to Disney. I do feel Disney would be surprised, if despite all their advertising showing cute little kids and Mickey, to realize just how many people do NOT view them as family friendly.
One mistaken trip to Disney in June cures a lot of people of that feeling. Orlando actually flies the rainbow flags during June, and don't think it doesn't make the newspapers, and that thinking people (the ones who care about what may be atop a flagpole) view it all with disgust.

The smart thing to do is to boycott those Hollywood types and teach them a lesson! We need to show the world that we won't tolerate any views that differ from ours... That we don't care that our forefathers killed and died so we could express our views without fear of retribution. We need to let the world know that you are either for us or against us and woe to those who are against us.
How low have we come to actually contemplate boycotting Hollywood?...That is like telling Americans to boycott America.

Welcome to FreeRepublic. Boycotting a person or person's products (in this case, movies and televsion productions) because you find their opinions ridiculous is hardly un-American...
