CANADIAN court agrees that BIBLE is HATE LITERATURE

In a ruling given virtually no media coverage, the Court of Queen's Bench in Saskatchewan, ruled that a man who placed references to Bible verses on homosexuality into a newspaper ad was guilty of inciting hatred. The December 11, 2002 decision was in response to an appeal of a 2001 Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission (HRC) ruling which ordered both the Saskatoon StarPhoenix newspaper and Hugh Owens of Regina to pay CAN$1,500 to three homosexual activists for publishing an ad in the Saskatoon newspaper quoting Bible verses regarding homosexuality.

The purpose of the ad was to indicate that the Bible says no to homosexual behavior. The advertisement displayed references to four Bible passages: Romans 1, Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, on the left side. An equal sign (=) was situated in the middle, with a symbol on the right side. The symbol was comprised of two males holding hands with the universal symbol of a red circle with a diagonal bar superimposed over top.

Justice J. Barclay rejected the appeal ruling: "In my view, the Board was correct in concluding that the advertisement can objectively be seen as exposing homosexuals to hatred or ridicule. When the use of the circle and slash is combined with the passages of the Bible, it exposes homosexuals to detestation, vilification and disgrace. In other words, the Biblical passage which suggests that if a man lies with a man they must be put to death exposes homosexuals to hatred."

Janet Epp Buckingham, Legal Counsel for the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, told LifeSite: "The ruling that a verse from the Bible can be considered to expose homosexuals to hatred shows the danger for Scripture if Bill C-250 passes." Bill C-250, proposed by homosexual activist MP Svend Robinson, would see "sexual orientation" added to hate crime law as a prohibited ground of discrimination.

I hate to say it

No you don't . I've never insulted your country and you even manage to bring in penis envy , of all things and that in it's self is an indication more of your problem than any in my country.

The whole basis of yours and others argument is that the First Amendment protects your free speech. My point to you and others is that like Canada's right to Free Speech , your First Amendment is not absolute.

http://faculty.ncwc.edu/toconnor/410/410lect08.htm

the First Amendment is about protecting the public good rather than individual freedom. Freedom of speech in America has NEVER been absolute. Ever since The Alien and Sedition Act of 1798, there have been a number of laws restricting scandalous, malicious, inflammatory or false utterances, particularly any attempting to defame or bring down the government, or help its enemies.

The following areas have NEVER been protected by the Constitution. There are NO barriers to government interference or regulation. The ONLY constraints on government are that officials must be engaged in a legitimate purpose (doing their duty) , the law to be enforced must not be too broad or vague , the law must be content neutral , not intervene before the fact unless extraordinary circumstances exist , and not have a "chilling effect" (which makes people fearful of engaging in legitimate activities). (obscenity , libel, fighting words , nudity). There are in-between categories between free speech and unprotected speech. Generally, governments have a free hand in how they want to go about regulating these areas.( hate speech, internet defamation , commercial speech ).

Take the time to read the link. Zundel has been arrested in Tennessee on INS charges and is being deported to Germany , where they do have extremely harsh hate laws. This court decision is about the intent of the ad purchaser, nothing more and., as I said in an earlier post, test your freedom. Print an identical ad in a local paper and see what happens.

Great summary of the events thus far, but you forgot the dozen or so posts where this individual was talking crap about me to other people.

All this, LONG before I began to respond in kind.

"If that is impossible for anyone of you to do then just do not respond to one another."

Sounds like a plan to me.

But there's also a lesson for those who insist, despite all available evidence to the contrary, on seeing the work of 9/11 as just that of a few terrorists. They fail to recognize that Islam has been waging war against the West well before 9/11 and that it will continue to do so until we submit to their rule.

I pray that day will never come, and it has not so far. Just like Communism failed, I think Islam will too in its latest attempt to subdue the West. But it should also be clear, given what is being said in our own nation's prisons, that much damage could be done before we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Please post one link to any post where I called your mother a whore, and I will personally ask the Moderators to pull it.

You know I cannot do that because they and several others have already been pulled by the Admin Moderators. Why don't we just drop it and carry on civilly as we are in the "bin laden tape" thread?

They fail to recognize that Islam has been waging war against the West well before 9/11 and that it will continue to do so until we submit to their rule.

They have been at war with human civilization since their bloody birth in the seventh century. There have been relatively quiet periods, where they have restricted themselves to quietly murdering, oppressing and enslaving those they could find who were more primitive than they. But the vast wealth we have given them for the oil we developed for them has given them new hope for a bloody conquest of the world.

This is not going to be over for a long time, if ever.

I think it bears mentioning that the moderators of this forum also apparently consider certain parts of the Bible to be "hate speech". A short time ago, there was a thread whose article talked about someone looking to "cure homosexuality" or some such. One poster replied, "There's already a cure, and it's in Leviticus." The post was pulled.

I tell you what, I'll create a temporary password for David1, which allows him to see any post that I have writen, or any post directed at me by logging on as me.

Then he can tell me where that post is, once he finds it, I will gladly apologize.

It's a well-known FR glitch that's available to you as well by the way, so, come to think of it, you can simply cut and paste it back on the thread, and I will apologize both to you, and your sainted mother.

I'll wait.

When you can't quote the Bible in public.

That's a lie.

Luis, you're wasting your time. This article was posted to this thread two days ago, at which time I made basically the exact same point you are (about the issue not being the Bible, but the advertisement and the intent behind it).

All this joker has done is repeat the same disinformation on another thread.

In the meantime, I will feel free to quote any part of the Bible I see fit, at any time.

I will apologize both to you, and your sainted mother.

Why be so sarcastic, man? I never said she was a saint, but she is a sweet old lady and a good faithful wife and mother to all of her seven children. I am grateful for her and know that I won't have her around much longer.

Back when I was in school (even all the way through college) one subject of villification was absolutely off limits. That was the other guy's mother. Nobody did that, even WITH plausible deniability, which would have been considered an act of shameful cowardice. But I grew up in very a high class little town in the midwest. When I moved to southern Arizona, I was shocked and appalled by the trashy, low class behavior I encountered on a regular basis. I guess different things matter in different places. I suppose that I shouldn't let it bother me so, but, even after all these years, it still does.

Yeah Luis. I have got to agree with Throndir here. I thought your "saintly" comment was a little too sarcastic. But I did not want to say anything until Thorondir replied to see if he took it the same way. Which he did. Remember, we are trying to start on a clean slate here. Lets start anew and all discuss in civility and none discuss at all if that is not possible.

I have been taking crap from people about my ethnicity for much too long, I have had it, and I will no longer just stand by and take comments about having to speak to me in Spanish to make sure I understand something, that I am some third-world derelict here to screw up America, or any one of the many variations on those themes.

You have been pounding at me along those lines nearly since our first encounter on my Radio FR thread, and I was extremely careful not to be equally as insulting on the thread to you, as you were to me.

As a matter of fat, it was after you again began leveling both direct and indirect attacks on me on a second thread that I decided to answer in kind.

You may not offend my ethnicity, and you may not question my being an American...I am one, with every right and responsibilty that you have. I communicate in not one, but two languages with ease, and complete proficiency (rough on the spelling and grammar sometimes, but I'm still working on it), and I do it daily, and in your full view, so the crack about having to tell me in Spanish was meant to offend.

I read your posts, and I know your mind, but I will tell you sir that if you wish for me not to offend that which you hold sacred, you will not offend that which is sacred to me...the country where I was born, and the one I now call home, and have sworn undying allegiance to.

Attack those things, or my family and I will do whatever I can do to fight back.

With a keyboard in here, or otherwise, should we ever meet face to face.

Calm down Luis. Ease up. Thorondir has already apologized. I understand how angry you were when he was attacking your ethnicity. And you know why. I felt the same anger. But now is the time to calm down and accept apologies and talk civilly about issues at hand and not personal again. Lets start anew under a clean slate.

How long ago, sir? Give it a rest already. I apologized. But I speak spanish, too. It's the only way I can communicate with my mother-in-law.

You have been pounding at me along those lines nearly since our first encounter on my Radio FR thread

Stopped that long ago, sir.

and I was extremely careful not to be equally as insulting on the thread to you, as you were to me. As a matter of fat, it was after you again began leveling both direct and indirect attacks on me on a second thread that I decided to answer in kind.

LOL! Good one.

I know your mind

Once gain, sir, no, you don't. You don't know my mind any more than I know yours.

I will do whatever I can do to fight back. With a keyboard in here, or otherwise, should we ever meet face to face.

Good grief, man. Cut out the chest-thumping keyboard threats. I have no desire to fight you, nor do I have the desperate need to prove myself in that way. For crying out loud.

I am not your enemy, man. We just disagree about a few things. And we probably strongly agree on most other things things.

Honestly wishing you and your family well, Luis.

Look guys, this is getting really nasty.

What was said in anger in previous posts by either one of you was already said. There is no way to take it back. Now, you can continue bashing each other over the head with it from thread to thread to thread or you can move on.

Thorondir apologized for his ethnic cracks and, to my satisfaction, the subject is closed.

Luis, just make it clear that you have never meant any disrespect to anybody's mother and, if it was so understood, you sincerely regret it.

After that, the past is the past. Leave it there.

You Wrote:
Is there a limit to the number of times Christ will forgive a sinner?

The answer is no, but there is a limit to the number of times a man will ask for forgiveness. It is a good thing that: "If we are faithless, He remains faithfull. He cannot deny himself." Otherwise, God would not forgive us for not asking forgiveness.
