I'll be cubicle-bound again today, with little or no access to the internet....and, of course, radio won't cover this....so, lots of us will depend on you all to cover this in detail....and post any "great quotes." (And what I'll probably look forward to as much are the humorous posts that are bound to be here..... : )

Something that makes Iraqi WMDs seem insignificant, I bet!

PREDICTION: Inspectors will say "Some bumps along the way but all in all Iraq is complying and we need more time to inspect"

Even though this thread has just started and the meeting is three hours away, I think you've already nailed it.

Since we have some time before the UN report, below is some BBC reading material ...

Chief arms inspector Hans Blix in his office at the UN Divided UN Council awaits Iraq report
UN weapons inspectors are set to deliver a progress report on Iraq, which could be the trigger for US-led military action.

This is a picture of an actual display outside of the UN building in New York paid for with UN (read: US taxpayer) funds.

It is the only type of "arms control" the UN cares about. Stopping handgun ownership by private citizens.

Someone FedEx Saddam a .22 Ruger target pistol and the UN might go ape.

And, on C-SPAN, if you want to watch and listen uninterrupted.

Thanks for the link to the WSJ article that connects Saddam to anthrax. The article uses Saddam and his son's own written words and makes the connection in a way I've never seen before.

Very true - I'll have more live links as the morning progresses.

You're exactly right - I don't know why we're supposed to be waiting with baited breath on what the UN has to say. All they're gonna do is provide more anti-war fodder for the media and the left. Anyone who isn't convinced now isn't going to be. I keep hearing how Bush is making the UN look small, but it seems to be they're getting more relevance and attention than ever. At this point even many conservatives are talking about how great it would be to have UN support for our actions. It's time to see results, something definitive, and end to this charade w/Saddam.

Actually, the "Non-Violence" sculpture was donated to the UN by Luxembourg. Doesn't makes it prettier, but at least it's the people in Luxembourg who paid for it.

I'm stuck down at the courthouse all morning (at least from 10 until noon)--no TV, no internet, no radio, no nothing but a bunch of droning lawyers. I hope there's a running commentary when the show begins.

nothing but a bunch of droning lawyers

That's who I'm stuck with all day, every day....(I work at a law firm)......now, if they had a sense of humor.....but these people don't.....my boss in Colorado, OTOH, now, he was hysterical and we'd often go watch t.v. (all the lawyers would) at the law firm if something very important/critical was going on....work stopped during the coverage of the WTC for most of the a.m. They were all very interested in our government, were all Republicans, and were all fun......I even got my boss interested in FR.....he's a lurker, I think... : )
