I hope there's a running commentary when the show begins.I'm sure there will be - I'll be stuck at work and behind a firewall, so I won't be able to see/hear the stream either...

LOL. If only Blix actually inspected something. Fortunately he seems more at home in a cozy chair at the UN HQ.

I work with lawyers, too, but this time, I'm a witness in a criminal case. I won't even be spending a lot of time in the courtroom, but riding a bench waiting to be called.
I'm hoping for a plea bargain, but as of last night, the case was still on.

My impression of Blix is actually fairly positive. He may not be towing the line we would like, but he's not going the other way either.
I wish Dan Rather could be so impartial.
He (Blix) really does seem to be trying to find a non-violent solution to the problem, and he seems to know that it won't come from endless capitulation to Iraqi whims or more appeasement. He isn't as ready to accept the idea of force as the White House, but he doesn't have the same motivations either.
The White House has the responsibility to see to it that America, Americans and their interests are defended and safe, so even though they don't like it (after all who does) they are prepared to commit to force. Blix doesn't have the responsibility to defend anyone so he's in no such position, but overall, I still think he's fairly clear-headed.
Watch what he says today. His accent will sound Dutch (practical, reasoned and thoughtful) and not "French" (envious, resentful and obstructive).
For someone who represents the UN, Blix is OK by me. We could do much worse.

but the UN will never help us justify our war on Iraq. They already did...just not on purpose!

My impression is fairly positive as well (although you can claim bias since I'm a Swede too), though he might not be the best man for the job. It's worth saying that his job is to find a non-violent solution - so picking at him for that isn't worth the time. As to if the findings warrant a UN-endorsed war or not, that's up to the countries in the UNSC.

just a hunch...
UN inspectors to Annan: Well, they were rude and cheeky and unwashed, but we didn't find any WMD, just as you ordered, sir.
Annan (to inspectors): Thank you. Well done. We will not be forced ot station you in the congo. Yo may go now.
Annan to news media: Nothing to see here, comrades. Move along...

FNC Breaking: Saddam issues decree banning WMD LoL! So funny.
To: demlosers
This is funnier! Front page NY Post today:
I LOVE Kofi Annan looking at that weasel like he's trying to understand him. LOL!

Any bets on how long it takes for the poodles and the pig-dogs to claim this as a victory??
To: anguish
It's worth saying that his job is to find a non-violent solution.... I was about to respond to tcostell and tell him the same thing until I saw your post.
Blix should do his job correctly by just reporting the facts. Anything more from is unsolicited opinion and bias.
