US and GB are blessed by leaders that are not concerned by re-election on the Iraq issue but instead by thier place in history (Blair is even quoted on this). TB would HATE to be remembered as another Nevil Chamberland. Now everyone pity me because my job has me dealing with German and French contractors every day (working for NYC!).
Best line was from one of the German contractors who lives in NY...he says somethin refering to 'the Germans'. When asked why he called his co-workers 'the Germans' he responded in his thick German accent..."im not German, Im American"...Wat other country would you hear this?

Yes! Dr. Condoleeza Rice for President 2008!
(As much as I love Dick Cheny, because of his heart problem, I would really like to see her as Dubya's VP running mate in 2004.)

IMO, Saddam can't flee.
Well, the Shah of Iran fled and died of natural causes and was pretty bad but not quite as insanely brutal as Saddam. But in modern times, Saddam might be concerned that someone would later try to drag him into a war crimes court. Still, the billions he's looted would buy a lot of protection in a place like France, the usual final destination for fleeing dictators.
Powell and Rumsfeld have both said that they woould prefer he just leave. We'd take over the country undamaged without firing a shot. No dead soldiers, no burning oil fields, no use of bioweapons or chem weapons, no destroyed bridges and power plants. Yeah, it sucks but we'd let him leave. We have to honor the option and keep our word on it.
If he did flee, I hope some Iraqi would wipe him out anyway.
I haven't heard anything more about where Uday's right-hand man fled to over the weekend with all that money. Just an initial report that he had disappeared and then nothing more. I wonder where he's at.

M Chirac said conflict with Saddam would boost support for the likes of Osama bin Laden. "A war of this kind cannot help giving a big lift to terrorism. It would create a large number of little bin Ladens. Muslims and Christians have a lot to say to one another, but war isn't going to facilitate that dialogue." And doing nothing doesn't? Great logic. Pass the Wisconsin cheese please.

"..M Chirac suggested that "if we go through with the inspections the Americans will have won, since it would essentially be thanks to the pressure they exercised that Iraq was disarmed". " (In my very best French): "Dis is to laugh. Hawr. Hawr."
We would never get much credit, even if things worked out the way Chirac describes.
Besides, this plan would have been stronger if France and Germany had gone along with our threat to use military force.
Is Chirac a part-time dime-novelist? Or is his problem that he never passed his college logic courses? Is he competing for a Nobel Peace Prize?

Well---I dunno. I love VP Cheney. I believe he is a rock and a truly, deeply intelligent man who sees the 'big picture'. Not that Ms. Rice doesn't, indeed, she is an extraordinary visionary who reflects our President's determination to be direct and resolved. However, our President's choice for the next term is to keep VP Cheney as his VP, and I could not agree more. I hope Mr. Cheney accepts the offer, again.
As for Condi, I would follow her to the ends of the earth. To borrow a quote from an actor (yikes! hehe), Will Smith, in referring to his admiration of his acting partner Tommy Lee Jones, ' I'll keep rollin' with Condi until the wheels come off'. Whatever her future plans are, I will always be one of her biggest supporters.
