Indeed, particularly when you also take *this additional recent report* into account as well, particularly in light of the 17 Aug 1988 plane crash that removed Pakistani President Zia al-Huq from office... taking along US Ambassador Arnold Raphel and military attache General Harold Wassom for the ride. Can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, as they say in the business....

You needen't bother. Those of us who appreciate our real Russian friends and allies, particularly those of us who came to age as young soldiers expecting to kill young Russian soldiers and be probably eventually be killed by others like them in turn hardly find a few foolish or overly sharp words tossed about by one with no understanding or appreciation of such things.
Even if he does happen to be Russian, he's no desantnik. Just another sooka for our common enemies, and likely a stukach for them as well.

No. They were Iranian Chekisti, on their way to or from more of their duties, which have in the past most certainly included butchery of unarmed civiliand, to include the daughters and sisters of the Safavi family following the overthrow and elimination of the Pahlavi regime.
Those who died at Desert One, hoping to rescue the American embassy workers being held hostage by Iranians very similar to those who died in this crash, and who may have even included a few of them- Those were warriors, and their deaths were tragic.
