Funny and scary

ACLU: "The Union agrees with the Supreme Court's longstanding interpretation of the Second Amendment that the individual's right to keep and bear arms applies only to the preservation or efficiency of a 'well-regulated militia'. Except for lawful police and military purposes, the possession of weapons by individuals is not constitutionally protected." ACLU policy statement #47 (1986)

REP. SCHUMER: --in Stockton--
REP. McCOLLUM: --didn't use one of the ones that were banned.
REP. SCHUMER: Yes. He used a stock. We ban also more than 10 bullet stocks, so you can't shoot a whole lot of bullets.

So in 2004 can the gun makers start cranking out clips bigger than 10 rds? Because the price of a 30 rd clip is getting up there and a market glut would be nice.

President William J. Clinton: "We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans to legitimately own handguns and rifles...that we are unable to think about reality." USA Today, March 11, 1993 [emphasis added]

"I, William Jefferson Clinton, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and I will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." January 20, 1993 [emphasis added]

Was he lying on 3/11/93 or on 1/20/93? Didn't take long, did it?

Oh, he was a lawyer, wasn't he? Only a lawyer would take to the best of my ability in the Presidential oath of office to be an escape clause.

"To my mind it is wholly irresponsible to go into the world incapable of preventing violence, injury, crime, and death. How feeble is the mindset to accept defenselessness. How unnatural. How cheap. How cowardly. How pathetic." Ted Nugent

It is reported that in some parts of this State (South Carolina), armed parties are, without proper authority, engaged in seizing all fire-arms found in the hands of the freedmen. Such conduct is in clear and direct violation of their personal rights as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States, which declares that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed".
- Union General Rufus Saxton reporting to the U.S.Congress circa 1870+/-, as reported in Richard Poe's The Seven Myths of Gun Control.

It is a little known (and never mentioned by the left) fact that attempts by the KKK and others in the south after the civil war to disarm newly freed blacks was a primary motivation in the passage of the Fourteenth amendment, which forbids states from abridging rights guaranteed in the Constitution and demands "equal protection of the laws".....
