Here's why it all started:
The Proliferation of the brown "SAY NO TO WAR" signs in the Minneapolis/St Paul metro along with the protests every week got us a little bothered. You see—I have a simple policy: I don't bother you if you don't bother me—In short: the golden rule. But, when I and Colonel Repya (the founder of the Liberate Iraq sign campaign) saw these brown signs pop up all over our city and heard the Sarandons, the Asners, the Penns, the Langs, the Mandellas, The Carters, and the rest of the Hate-America crowd, for about 4 months, we said enough is enough!
Totally independent of each other, and at about the same point,we both said: "Look, dissension is one thing, but I am tired of these rallies of mixed interest factions disguising their anti-Bush/America angst as "peace" advocacy, I have to do something". It worked out well. He spread a possitive message with yard signs, and I, along with my friend spread a possitive message with T-shirts.
The bottom line is: the leftists created me. I am a regularguy who has plenty of things to do other than go to rallies and march against America, instead of against dictatatorial regimes that rape, beat, poision and torture as a daily matter of course. Frankly,we probably would no thave focused the energy to produce these shirts if the level of America hatred at home and abroad did not reach such a fever pitch. I have and always will respect our soldiers, but the unrelenting protestors put us over the top.And if we can thank the leftists for anything it is that their constant badgering created our strong wave of support. Sadly, many of these protestors don't know their rallies have been funded by ANSWER (A World Communist front group). But even more sadly, many do—because as long as it means opposing George W. Bush...well, then anything else is just fine.
And here we are today. We have found great support from the community of Minnesota people who love America and the freedoms it fosters and nourishes. 5,000 yard signs were given out today. People are getting shirts, buttons, stickers, making their own banners, hoisting flags, and typing passionately at their keyboards.God Bless America.

Eagan [MN] man makes 'Liberate Iraq' signs to counter antiwar ones

Signs reading "Liberate Iraq" may be appearing in Twin Cities yards and windows thanks to a retired soldier who was getting frustrated with the proliferation of "Say No To War With Iraq" signs.
Joe Repya, 57, of Eagan and his wife, Deb, were riding home from church a couple of Sundays ago thinking about how to respond to those "Say No" signs that have become popular with opponents of President Bush's Iraq policy. They decided to print 250 copies of their own sign. In addition to "Liberate Iraq," the sign encourages people to: "Support Our Troops, Call Your Congressperson!"
Repya, a retired lieutenant colonel and veteran of the Vietnam and Persian Gulf wars, is a military analyst on KSTP-AM radio, and he used one of his on-air appearances to announce that he would give out the signs in front of the station's St. Paul headquarters Friday morning.
Business was brisk, despite weather that was even more brisk. Most of his customers took multiple copies, saying they had relatives or neighbors who would display them.
Richard Olson of Faribault took two signs because he has two sons already posted to the Persian Gulf.
Mike Keenan of Shoreview took five signs, saying his brothers each wanted one. Keenan's reason for wanting the signs reflected a sentiment common among those who drove up to Repya's stand: "I've been riding around, seeing the anti-war signs, saying to myself, 'This is crazy.' But I had no way to fight back -- until now."
The signs are free, but Repya asks for a $5 donation per sign. The original batch of 250 signs is gone, but Repya said he will have new ones in about a week.

5000 LAWN SIGNS AND BUMPER STICKERS SUPPORTING
AMERICAN TROOPS IN THE MIDDLE EAST TO BE DISTRIBUTED
AT THE MINNESOTA STATE CAPITOL SATURDAY,
FEBRUARY 22nd FROM 2:00 PM UNTIL THEY ARE GONE
Eagan, Minnesota residents Joe & Deb Repya announced today that they will be distributing 5,000 lawn signs and 5,000 bumper stickers supporting our troops this Saturday, February 22nd, 2003.
Distribution begins at 2:00 PM and will continue until the signs are gone. They are asking for a five-dollar donation per sign to cover printing costs. A one-dollar donation per bumper sticker is suggested.
"The LIBERATE IRAQ - SUPPORT OUR TROOPS sign sends the right message to our troops and hopefully to the Iraqi regime that Americans are solidly behind our service people and our President." Joe Repya said.
Joe Repya is a retired US Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel who served in Vietnam and the Persian Gulf War. This grass roots sign effort began on February 7th, 2003 by distributing 250 signs. Response has been so overwhelming that by the end of this coming weekend over 7,000 LIBERATE IRAQ - SUPPORT OUR TROOPS signs will have been distributed in Minnesota. The "SAY NO TO WAR" people claim to have distributed 6,500 signs in about 5 months.

I still like distributing signs like these - but ones that just say, "Support Our Troops" - if we intend to make this a LONG TERM project.Iraq WILL be liberated about two weeks after we go in - which should be VERY SOON, and then THESE signs will be somewhat dated, IMHO.
They look 100 times better when you hold them in your hands.And they LOOK marvelous!

Two hundred thousand demonstrators flooded downtown San Francisco Sunday in the largest West Coast protest yet against a possible U.S. war with Iraq.
The protest remained largely peaceful as demonstrators marched along a one-mile stretch of Market Street.
Reports of vandalism and assault surfaced, however, as the afternoon wore on, leading to some arrests.
"Menopausal Women against War," babies in strollers and presidential look-alikes took to the street, carrying signs attacking the Bush administration and demanding a peaceful alternative to war.
The event was well attended by leaders of the budding anti-war movement.
"Peace is patriotic," said Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Berkeley. "Our right to dissent is fundamental."
Also in attendance were actor Danny Glover, folk singer Joan Baez and author Alice Walker.
Only a few counter protesters showed up, which demonstrators called unsurprising.
"It is not popular or else it would already be happening," said UC Berkeley junior Evan Denerstein of a possible war in Iraq. Denerstein is a member of Berkeley Stop the War Coalition.
More than 100 UC Berkeley students joined the march, Berkeley Coalition members said.
Students wore black armbands and held hand-painted signs as they danced and chanted anti-war slogans.
Demonstrators called U.S. tactics toward Iraq flawed and offered their own solutions.
"It's completely unnecessary," said UC Berkeley freshman Pammy O'Leary. "I think more diplomacy is what we should do."
Despite protesters' opposition to the war, some students acknowledged that moderated action against Iraq is necessary.

Sean Kingston, a University of Southern California senior who joined in the protest, said the Bush administration should take less aggressive actions to avoid war—such as precision bombing, financial incentives and attempted coups.
Formed in response to Sept. 11, the Berkeley Coalition has been the main student group organizing against the war. They have handed out fliers on Sproul Plaza and hosted teach-ins.
Berkeley Coalition members were part of the nearly 1,000 students from organized groups at San Francisco and Sonoma State universities, UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz.
All are members of the Bay Area chapter of the Campus Anti-War Network, an organization that includes 150 colleges and universities nationwide.
Speakers addressing the student contingency emphasized the importance of the student voice.
"We have to turn each of our campuses into seething cauldrons," said Todd Chretien, a San Francisco State University student at the rally.
Many said students are in the best position to create social change.
"Beyond the fact that we're the policy makers of tomorrow, we're young," said UC Berkeley junior Lara Lebherz, a coalition member. "We need to work for social justice for those who can't speak out."
Although nationwide support for the anti-war movement is growing, UC Berkeley campus lacks the political vigor it once had.
"We cling to that legacy, but we don't act on it," Lebherz said. "Slowly, the students are waking up to that responsibility."
I don't know if anyone else has notice this but whenever I see pictures of pro-American suppporters they are always smiling and happy.We have all the BABES, too!
Compared to the anti-war protestors who look like they have a two by four shoved up their posterior.
KALIFORNIA KOLLEGE KAMPUS KOOKS VS. DAVID HOROWITZ AND FREE REPUBLIC

On a grassy knoll at the rear of the crowd, the angry and the ignorant gathered with drums and signs that read: "BUSH IS STUPID," "BUSH IS RETARDED," "BU-- SH--!" "NO BLOOD FOR OIL," ETC. They chanted "Bull sh--!" and "Racist" (which I guess applies to any Republican or person who supports President Bush) while David Horowitz talked about human rights atrocities in the Sudan, Iraq, North Korea, and asked why the "No War" nuts weren't upset about any of that.
In case anyone reading this didn't get the memo, these "anti-war" protesters are really ANTI-BUSH...
