[history]
Environmental activists have gone beyond sign-waving and marches to protest the looming U.S.-led war against Iraq and are now seeking to interfere with the military buildup overseas.
Lead by Greenpeace, dozens of activists were arrested this week for blocking ships in two ports that were contracted by the United States to transport military equipment to the Persian Gulf, where American forces are gathering for a possible strike to disarm Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

Greenpeace's flagship boat, the Rainbow Warrior, with activists in inflatable boats and canoes blocked the ship for more than eight hours before tug boats could escort it to sea.
I thought we took care of their faggy boat already..
I thought it was sunk.

Further, isn't it a crime to interefer with our military in a bid to aid a hostile foreign power?
Now, you might say: "But, the war hasn't started"
But, congress already authorized it.. This is a congressionally rubber stamped operation already. We just haven't invaded yet.

Many "green" groups were prominent in the anti-war protests that occurred across the United States and the world last weekend. These are the watermelon "environmentalists", green on the outside, RED on the inside. True conservationist groups would take no stand on this issue. True conservationist groups often contain way to many hunters and fishermen for the PC crowd. Others believe that private property gets better stewardship than public property, but of course the RED in those green groups can't abide private property.
When they block or attempt to block US military movements, they have moved from legitimate dissent to giving aid and confort to the enemies of the United States. In the Constitution that I swore to uphold and defend, that is defined as treason.

that is defined as treason. If they are Americans that is. If they are not, then they are garden variety pirates, liable to be sunk by the warships of any nation.

"We were not going to let this military ship move on and load up for war without a fight," one activist said. Stopping war by fighting. Hmm... Well, no one ever accused the "pacifists" of being consistent.
I'm reminded of the classic line from "Dr. Strangelove": "Gentlemen! You can't fight in here, this is the War Room!"

It seems to me such action should be considered both hostile and criminal, which demands a reaction of equal force, but perfectly legal.
I propose the next time this happens, the people on the transport ships should be authorized to open fire on the protesters.

Why aren't these activists in Pyongyang harbor, protesting Juche nuclear development, warlike policies, and starvation and torture of the civilian populace?
Oh, right, I forgot - its more "courageous" to protest the only governments on earth that don't alligator clip your genitals for several months before executing you.

That's what I was thinking..
This doesn't sound like "dissent" to me. "Dissent" would be waving anti-war signs as the ships passed, and I wouldn't deny them that because it's their right.
This however is physical obstruction and I think it's criminal.

True conservationist groups would take no stand on this issue.
True conservation groups would take an anti-Saddam stand. In setting the Kuwaiti oil wells on fire, Saddam became the worlds worst eco-criminal. It is unbelievable that Greenpeace would protect him. Perhaps they do not really have an ecological platform, but an anti-Western one.
