Two ex-presidents could learn from Eisenhower and the Bay of Pigs.

Two of our former presidents, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, have been talking a lot about their views and feelings on Iraq. It would be nice if they took to speaking less and thinking more. They could start with an event in the latter years of Dwight David Eisenhower, a former president who knew how to do the job.

Unfortunately, The two former presidents are being admired and sought out to comment on many issues.. instead of being scrutinized and questioned about their antics and discredited for their lack of professionalism. It is a shame, but it has become a Democrat's tradmark to accept the unacceptable in the name of opposition. Expect more of it.

Oh yeah, Vietnam was a HUGE success! What is it about Democrats? They can't do foreign policy to save their lives?

I believe most Americans are beginning to understand just what a slime x42 really is. I hope folks continue to point out the difference in his behavior and that of Pres. George H. W. Bush. There have been so many times you could tell Poppy wanted to just come out and smack x42 down, but he knew that is what former Presidents are NOT supposed to do! Now that x42 is out of office and he and the Georgia peanut farmer are mouthing off all over the world, Poppy may make an exception, and I hope he does!

They knew America was in trouble and they loved their country. So they put aside their own grievances and criticisms, put the country's needs ahead of their own, and showed the world unity.

They were, that is, patriots.

Clinton and Carter are both aware of the detrimental effects of the criticism of the Bush foreign policy. Neither one of them sees the US as anything special. They both see the world as a flat playing field, to attribute special characteristics to the US would assume that the US is better than other countries, and give it more power. That would not fit into their New World Order scheme of things. Carter very much wants be considered a player in the New World Order and Clinton thinks that he defines the New World Order. The truth is that if Bush is successful in deposing Saddam Hussein and establishing some kind of democracy in the region, the New World Order may never come to fruition and that is what the opposition to the war in Iraq is all about.

It was Kennedy who, only weeks after his November election, told CIA director Allen Dulles that he wanted the agency to move forward on Cuban invasion plans. After he was in the White House he consented to and encouraged the plans, and personally tinkered with them, to their detriment.

JFK owed it to the Mafia to get Cuba back in return for getting him elected.

OF course the Mafia recognized when they were shorted with a half-fast show and didn't forget about it.

Mr. Carter is a very nice, confused man of considerable vanity.

A serious misunderstanding of Jimmuh. The Peanut Farmer is in fact a deeply resentful hardened ideologue, farther to the left than anyone else ever elected President. His trashing of George W. Bush is motivated by a searing hatred of conservative Republicans.

I used to think what Pokey posted about Carter, but I have come over to TheMole's side on this. I'm beginning to think Carter was a worse President than X41. Selling Iran down the river leading to the Iran hostage crisis, payoffs from radical Arabs, the Panama Canal, appeasement of North Korea, it just goes on and on.
