Thank you. I agree with so many of the comments here. This news was most clearly and conveniently ignored.
The Fuji video link is now down. In it's place (or certainly near the top) is now a newsvideo link showing a piddly 6,000 that turned out in Hiroshima, Japan today to spell out 'No War' with their bodies.
We have to fight liberalism and censorship in the press from many, many countries, not just the USA.

These S. Korean video links are also dropped from the YTN page of the news text. But the url of the videos are still alive. Somebody should save those vieo files into a hard drive.

Good news (perhaps):
I saved the URL for the video itself (Real Audio format). It worked as a 'cut and paste' in my browser just now. Here it is:

The "Dong-A Ilbo" daily newspaper in Seoul
must be leftist. in today's issue, they
completely blacked out and made no mention of the big pro-US rally Saturday of 100,000 to 300,000 marchers, and instead they put on their front page--along with a photo--of a mere shadow of that--a 2,000 person rally against US forces and against War on Iraq in Chongro district, Seoul.
Sounds like reporting in the USA a bit, doesn't it?

KOREA HERALD REPORT: "Conservative (South Korean) civic groups witnessed a high turnout for their rally in Seoul Saturday to oppose the redeployment and withdrawals of U.S. troops stationed here and denounce North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and his nuclear ambitions. Participants in the pro-U.S. rally organized by 114 conservative groups including the National Council for Freedom and Democracy packed the plaza in front of City Hall. Police estimated about 100,000 civic group members and citizens took part in the massive rally, which continued for three hours without any violent interruptions reported. Participants in the rally adopted a declaration maintaining that North Korea's nuclear development has driven the Korean people into a state of fear and anxiety, while urging President Roh Moo-hyun's government to join hands with the United States to keep peace on the peninsula. Bearing aloft the flags of South Korea and the United States, they chanted slogans like, "We love America" and sang the South Korean national anthem. The U.S. national anthem was also played during the rally. Prominent conservative figures attending the rally included former Prime Minister Chung Won-shik, former Sogang University President Park Hong, former Yonsei University professor Kim Dong-gill and Lee Chul-seung, chairman of the National Council for Freedom and Democracy. Norbert Vollertsen, a German doctor who has helped North Korean defectors find shelter in South Korea, was among the participants. The rally was also joined by 83 lawmakers from the opposition Grand National Party (GNP). Of the 151 GNP legislators, 132 formed a group last month to oppose the pullout of U.S. troops from South Korea. Members of the group said they are contacting lawmakers from the Millennium Democratic Party (MDP) and the United Liberal Democrats (ULD) to persuade them to join the campaign against the withdrawal of U.S. troops stationed here. Rep. Lee Won-chang, who acts as spokesman for the group, said they will launch a campaign this week to collect signatures from up to 10 million Koreans both at home and abroad to oppose the pullout of American troops from South Korea. Saturday's rally coincided with a period in which Seoul and Washington have made preparations to discuss forging a new role for South Korea in the bilateral military alliance, with new South Korean leader Roh repeatedly emphasizing the need for a more equal footing in relations between the two sides. U.S. officials have been deliberating over the relocation of a main U.S. garrison from Seoul to a new site and suggested readjusting the size and structure of the 37,000 American troops stationed in South Korea as a deterrent against a possible North Korean invasion. Later Saturday, some 400 members representing 250 liberal civic groups staged a candlelight parade in Seoul to oppose a U.S. plan to attack Iraq. (khkim@koreaherald.co.kr) "

A big WOW!!! bump.
To: Bob J; Cool Guy
We need a photo of that.
I know he was there.
However, in this world--as another Freeper once admonished me--if there is no photo or report, 'it didn't happen'.
Maybe we can get a photo of that Cool Guy-inspired Free Republic sign in that huge crowd of America Lovers in Seoul?

I've been happily waiting for your report on this event, thanks so much for the great pics and your perspective. It's incredibly inspiring to see the real story versus all the anti-US slant we keep getting inundated with here...
BTW, on that note, NY Times does mention the rally but talks about an anti-US rally right afterwards with the younger generation chanting anti-American views. Was there another rally afterwards and how did the two compare? I'm collecting articles about NYT media bias and am trying to pinpoint everything they suppress or inflate according to liberal agendas.
The NYT article is here if anyone wants to see it: http://www.nytimes.com/2003/03/02/international/asia/02KORE.html
Thanks again for the terrific news :-)

I sure hope Rush will have this on his website. That picture is awesome.
Actually, in case no one heard it - the actual count for the NYC anti-war rally was 65,000 - not the 500,000 they claimed. No wonder they are downplaying this S.Korean rally. They can't have another nation supporting Bush ...!!
