The Senate has been characterzied as "the place where passions go to cool." But when it's as transparently good v. evil as this thing, collegiality must be set aside. Let the Dems know that victory in any other than an up-or-down vote will only be obtained by them at a painful and embarassing cost. Reclining on the sofas in their offices rather than opulent splendor in Georgetown mansions will soften up most of them - like most bullies, they're essentially weak at the core if they meet resistance.

I'm not aware of any other talk shows.
This isn't just about Estrada. The dems will succeed in establishing their litmus test as the de facto advise and consent rule if Estrada isn't seated, particularly when 55 Senators are on record in support of him.

..and let them shut the govt down.
And THEN hang it on them like a dog collar.
"Tom Daschle, for reasons we aren't quite sure of.. But it's probably either racism, pettyness or some combination of the two.. tried to re-write our constitution and we stopped him."
Let him go on CSPAN and stammer like a fool 24/7 over this if that's what he wants.. It would be great to watch them talk out of their heads after 14 or 16 hours of straight spin.

"...I'm not normaly partisan..." -
Well, why the hell not!? On top of that, he never answered Britt's question, which was, in my words, are you going to let them filibuster until they drop dead or are you going to Trent Lott us to death?

There is no other way Frist has to make the rats go 24/7 and expose what they are doing on TV at all moments and nothing else gets done and why because of the democrats. That is what he has to do instead of caving.

PS: To cleanse my concience before I go to bed...
The above was intended to indicate Daschle would be at a loss for words very quickly.
It is in no way to mock, demean or make fun of people (Like Mr. Estrada) because of a speech impediment, as I am very sensitive to things like stuttering and stammering. I wouldn't do that.
There are people in my family with these disabilities actually.
There.

They think they're frustrated, and they supposedly 'know' what's going on - they don't know how frustrated we are just watching it all!!

Let the Dems know that victory in any other than an up-or-down vote will only be obtained by them at a painful and embarassing cost. Let the people who returned the Senate to the Republican party know this as well.

Tonight it looks like the posters here that defend everything the Republicans do aren't bothering to spin since they know their spin is worthless. And who would believe them with a interview like this and the Frist interview the other night. When will the republicans wake up? Fox did a poll and said the other night on Fox news that President Bush 2004 re election numbers are bad right now and this cave would make it even worst. You have to wonder what the republicans are thinking?

The senator moved his lips, blew hot air and said nothing. Typical spineless attitude a la Trent Lott.

Fine with me. You're probably not old enough to remember John Mitchell. One day a moment of honesty seized him and he said "Watch what we do, not what we say."

I certainly believe that the Republicans could and should push through a change to the Senate filibuster rule so that it has no application in the case of Senatorial Advise and Consent motions.
I think that this should be done NOW, before the end of the week, on a motion of the President Pro Tem of the Senate, Dick Cheney.

You're probably not old enough to remember John MitchellI'm old enough to know that Superman once told Aquaman to air grievances concerning the security of his Atlantis before the world assembly, when in fact his enemy came from within.
Other than that I'm not revealing my age. And I haven't heard any John Mitchell-type messages, or anything that would lead me to believe some are forthcoming.

That will mean getting the Senators out to make the shows and talk about the rat problem which they seem to send out lite weights that can't even say his name correct.

Listen, I'm old enough to remember MARTHA Mitchell.
But why lay that off on me. Maybe you have posted a reply to the wrong post... I don't know, but your entire post to me doesn't connect.

This is the most important issue besides the war...I agree. All good conservative need to call and write their Senators, let 'em know how you feel. I've been watching CSPAN2. After a Dem speaks some garbage, I give them an e-mail rebuttal even though they're not my Senator.
