"Landru, you don't have to play, but we will need a JUDGE!!"

HA!!
Whaaaaaaat *judge*??
Judge smudge, sultan.

Seems (to me) a pretty cut & dried matter.
Y'know?
~skins (score) & shirts (score)?

Whoever picked the team with the biggest score, wins.

...couldn't be any simpler if it were made outa velcro.

Something *like* that.

"BTW, have you ever thought about teaching at a community/junior college?"

HA!!
I'm retired.

"You’d be an excellent instructor, IMO."

~& you base that on what, may I ask?

"PLUS, yer advise would no longer be FREE!"

HAAA!!
Ahhh, Mr.L?
So what makes you think it's free, now?

Believe me, you pay.

Happy St. Patrick's Day folks.

As you know, I wear my nationality with great pride, and consequently admire patriotism in nations like the United States.

Only one thing...St. Patrick drove all the snakes out of Ireland, but STILL Bill Clinton can get a holiday visa. Sumptin's up! ;-)

Tao Te Ching: An English-Language Interpolation

Part 1
1. The Way
The Way that can be experienced is not true;
The world that can be constructed is not real.
The Way manifests all that happens and may happen;
The world represents all that exists and may exist.

To experience without abstraction is to sense the world;
To experience with abstraction is to know the world.
These two experiences are indistinguishable;
Their construction differs but their effect is the same.

Beyond the gate of experience flows the Way,
Which is ever greater and more subtle than the world.

2. Abstraction
When beauty is abstracted
Then ugliness has been implied;
When good is abstracted
Then evil has been implied.

So alive and dead are abstracted from nature,
Difficult and easy abstracted from progress,
Long and short abstracted from contrast,
High and low abstracted from depth,
Song and speech abstracted from melody,
After and before abstracted from sequence.

The sage experiences without abstraction,
And accomplishes without action;
He accepts the ebb and flow of things,
Nurtures them, but does not own them,
And lives, but does not dwell.

3. Without Action
Not praising the worthy prevents contention,
Not esteeming the valuable prevents theft,
Not displaying the beautiful prevents desire.

In this manner the sage governs people:
Emptying their minds,
Filling their bellies,
Weakening their ambitions,
And strengthening their bones.

If people lack knowledge and desire
Then they can not act;
If no action is taken
Harmony remains.

Interesting, IMHO...MUD

"No Sympathy for the Lib'rals"
(To be sung to the Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil")

Please allow me to introduce the World...
To the Left, they feel no shame!
Been around here for forty long years...
Stole many a man's Hope and Faith!
Fascists in Power when Jesus Christ...
Bore our crosses and bore our pain.
Made damn sure our Savior...
Wouldn't threaten their Evil Reign!
Please believe me...Lib'rals are to blame!
Despite their righteous talk, more Power is their aim!!

They saw their chance in St. Petersburg,
When they saw the Monarchy had been shamed.
Killed the Czar and his ministers...
As well as any Man who could think!
They rode the tanks in Heil Hitler's ranks...
When the blitzkrieg raged and all Waco stank!
Please believe me...Socialists are to blame!
Oh, yeah! Bloody failures, yet, they seem oblivious to shame!

They cheered with glee helpin' Pol Pot succeed...
Led by Hanoi Jane, their hands are bloody-stained!
They shouted out, "Who killed the Left's Elite?"
While slaughterin' all who just wished to breathe free!
Let me please clarify myself, these Elites have wealth and "taste"...
But their attacks on Liberty...have become a National Disgrace!!

I swear to you, DemocRATS are to blame!
Oh yeah! But what's puzzlin' me is their arrogant lack of shame!
Ah, yeah!...Go out and get 'em, boys!!

(kewl guitar jammin')

Please believe me, Slick's tyrants are to blame.
Oh yeah! But what's important now is imprisonin' Bill in chains!!!
'Cuz the Prez'dent's just a criminal...and all his critics Saints!
While I could call Slick "Lucifer," I'll exhibit some restraint!
When you see Slick, show due courtesy...
But have no sympathy, 'cuz Bill's a snake!
Condemn all his corrupt politics, or be ashamed to show your face!!

Pleased to meet you...Mudboy Slim's my name!
Uhm, yeah! Bringin' Clinton down is why I must serenade.
Uhmm, I mean it...Get out...Yeehah...Resign!...Get on out, BOY! Ah, yeah!

Tell you Country, Lib'rals are their name.
Tell you, voters, it's something you can change!
Tell us, Willie, where's your shame?!
Tell you one thing, Slick's to blame!!
Ooh Hoo! Ooh Hoo! Wahoo! Alright! Ooh Hoo Ooh! Ooh Hoo Ooh! Ah yeah!

'Text of Dubyuh's Ultimatum Speech!!"

"The danger is clear: Using chemical, biological or, one day, nuclear weapons obtained with the help of Iraq, the terrorists could fulfill their stated ambitions and kill thousands or hundreds of thousands of innocent people in our country or any other. The United States and other nations did nothing to deserve or invite this threat, but we will do everything to defeat it. Instead of drifting along toward tragedy, we will set a course toward safety. Before the day of horror can come, before it is too late to act, this danger will be removed. The United States of America has the sovereign authority to use force in assuring its own national security. That duty falls to me as commander of chief by the oath I have sworn, by the oath I will keep."

Excellent speech by Dubyuh, IMHO...MUD

Know any Beastie Boyz stuff? Such as "She's Crafty". They have a new one coming out called "Day and Nite"

I like Emimen stuff too. He's cold blooded and raw but realistic. Has one out called "Controversy".

Landru: HA!! "I'm retired."

We never retire, until we expire! Little Jessie Jackson jingle! HA!

"I really think you could influence young skulls full of mush, I mean look at all your influence on the Mudboy..."

Think so?
I don't.

"Influence" is a funny thing. Easily misused & abused and especially these days; whatwith, all the ego maniacs & fruits running amok?
Yup, "influence" all too quickly morphs into "control" for most people, has actually come to *mean* "control" in another odd distortion of our language.
Whether you realize it or not, "control" is something I will shun at all costs & for a variety of reasons.
The fact [it] alters the very *personality* of the people I enjoy most, notwithstanding.

So you see, I've *no* "influence" over Mudboy -- or anyone else -- that I'd be aware of, or want.

Mudboy's his own man (as are you, sultan, Mr.A.), & as such he thinks for himself.
I happen to feel he does so rather well, as a matter of fact.
I'd dare say what you're really seeing, then?
"Is" Mudboy; believe it or not.

...& that's how it should be.

With reference to Mud, [ joke ]. I was being flippant.

Influence...perhaps a better word is guidance.

The wind influences a sailboat, but the rudder controls it.

A person who shuns control is the best teacher of all, imo.

There are a lot of young sailboats out there, and the winds of influence do control them. They just need folks (like you, perfessor) to show them how to use a rudder.

Or you, my friend.
There's a little bit of philospher knocking around in you too, I've noticed.
Must be the solitude and quality time for thinking one must have while out kyak'g about, huh. ;^)

I figured you were being "flippant," my friend.
Just making darned sure others understood.
