I don't believe in this boycott stuff. That said, I was on the verge of buying a six-pack of beer and was reaching for the Becks, then changed my mind and bought Bass instead. Rather give my money to the Brits, don't ya know...

No German, Dutch, or Canadian beerWhy Dutch beer? I thought they were our allies in this. They were the ones planning to send Patriot Missles to Turkey over the objections of France and Germany.

The Dutch reflex is to line up against Germany, but public opinion there is very much against our efforts in Iraq. The merger of Hewlett-Packard and Compaq was accomplished when DeutscheBank threw its votes (shares) behind it. DB is Hewlett-Packard's largest finacier, and will make a lot of money in the future. Many jobs have been lost at HPQ, all the while Carly Fiorina expects to earn 16mil, or so, in PERFORMANCE bonuses. Should HPQ and Fiorina be punished in USA marketplace?

Ya know with everything we're supposed to be boycotting, is there anything left to buy??
I think any boycott will be much more successful if it were focused on a few specific and targeted items rather than everything freakin' thing...

I havent touched a German beer in five or six months. Look for Pilsner-Urquell from the Czech Republic. Its the best beer out there and they are with us too!

. No ... Dutch ... beer. The Dutch are from Holland/The Netherlands. I think you're confusing them with their neighbors, the Belgians. From (drum roll, please) Belgium.

Definitely buy Pilsner-Urquell.
In May of 1990, six months after the fall of communism, I rode a train through Bohemia. The railroad workers had spray painted over the red stars on the locomotives and put American flags prominently on display on the engineer's windows. Why? Because there a big celebration coming up to observe the 45th anniversary of the liberation of western Czechoslovakia by the U.S. Army.

Why Dutch beer? I thought they were our allies in this. Perhaps someone mistakenly believes the Dutch are from Belgium.
To: TheRightGuy
Perhaps someone mistakenly believes the Dutch are from Belgium.Possibly. I know it was the NETHERLANDS (that's the Dutch) who were trying to send the Patriot Missles to Turkey, and were being stymied by the French and Germans. The Belgians (from Belgium) were siding with France and Germany.
Do the Belgians make any sort of beer, wine, or liquer?

I had a problem with "Dodge" and Chrysler before this Boycott (although I would love to be able to buy their trucks). My problem is with their kissing up to Jesse Jackson, along with Toyota ...
So, now I have two reasons to not get my Dodge Truck (boo hoo).

Ya know with everything we're supposed to be boycotting, is there anything left to buy?? I was thinking the same thing. Nothing is American-made anymore....and if it is....it has Chinese and German parts. We'll all be naked, thirsty, smelly and walking, before this is over! Sheesh, just bought a bottle of Donna Karan.
