HEAVILY armed al Qaeda thugs practiced storming a school, shooting children and taking hostages in a videotaped training exercise, The Post has learned.

The terror rehearsal took place under the mandate of al Qaeda's operations chief, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks.

ISBN and publisher, please - I wish to go look this up. Distributer(s), politicians who favored this, educators/establishments which pushed for this, and school systems which use this vile tract, please. They all need to be put on the list.

It's more like a war between Islam and Capitalism/democracy than Islam vs Christianity.

At least that's the 'unspoken war' I see going on.

Hey, remember over on that thread about Khalid's two kids being found and taken into custody and Milwaukee_Guy
saying, "When we hold children as hostages, how do we differ from the bad guys?"? This thread should be a sufficient answer.

Exactly my point isn't it? Why do we want to hold the terrorists kids as hostages?

Don't get me wrong. Now say one of the captured terrorists happened to fall out the loading ramp (at 10,000 altitude) of a C-130 while he was being airlifted back to Gitmo while all of his psycho killer buddies look on.....

Hey close that ramp! Oops! :-O

Are you familiar with Janes.com? It is an intelligence service provider.

There is a School Safety handbook out:

"The comprehensive school safety guide for education and security professionals Jane's School Safety Handbook is a comprehensive and practical tool to assist teachers, school administrators and other agencies prepare for, respond to and recover from security incidents in schools. Tailored to meet the needs of the US education system, the handbook includes security checklists, threat assessment, crisis response and post-incident recovery procedures."

I don't know of ANY Board of Ed/School that has looked into this or any other source.

Do you think, for a SECOND, that our guys are going to hurt those kids?????????? They're probably living better now than they ever have.

Isn't it obvious that a tape with bullet holes in the back of the desk chairs of a school room ..... is a far-cry different than our having those kids? Come on....

Random House Teens ISBN 0-440-20835-1. But be sure to read it yourself first to see if you come to the same conclusions I have. Never try to ban a book you haven't read yourself.

No one but you has said they were being held as hostages. And if there were, they'd be wrong too. Let's say that a mass murderer and a chief officer of a criminal organization has a couple of kids who are taken into custody shortly after he has been captured. Are they being "held hostage"? Hardly. They may be kept somewhere out of the public eye for their own protection, but this is in no way like their daddy's plans to hold hostage and kill innocent kids their own age for his own political/religious ends.

Maybe hostage is too stong of a word. Sorry.

Still I would cut the kids loose. Our detention only fuels propaganda.

Thinking about it, what kind of terrorists surround themselves with women and children?

Despots and cowards, to answer my own question.

"Well, those leaders seem to have chosen methods that are virtually guaranteed to galvanize us against them. I wonder if they realize that."

Two points:

1. Such leaders are so adrift in their internal fantasies, now promoted to their reality, that they neither really know nor care.

2. Tragically, not even such methods will 'galvanize' all of us against them. J. Carter and R. Clark come to mind...they will go to their grave making excuses for such lunacy.

Only some years after the utter annihilation of these demoniacs (I can wish, can't I?) will some historians recognize the necessity of the eradication. The parallels with the Japanese military culture, the Nazis, the Cheka, etc., all beggar the imagination. The tragedy of the youth and unwitting populations caught up in this madness makes the gods weep.

Even so. Herr, es ist Zeit. Der Sommer war sehr gross...

Mr. Bush, unleash the dogs.

"...but what did we do to them in the first place that they had to take down the towers??????"

Absolutely nothing. The bad guys are the result of their own failed culture. If they weren't attacking us, they would find someone else to ensure their place in Heaven.

We'll get 'em. It took the Isrealis about 11 years to get the perpetrators of the Munich Olympic massacre. I think we are doing a very good job after only a year and a half.

Rilke, eh?

Befiehl den letzten Fruechten voll zu sein,/ Und auf den Fluren lass die Winde los.

Sorry, that's as much as I remember.

ktalks written by high school students have already appeared on the line indicating that the lead terrorist is a "favorite" character. I sat and watched a high school teacher lead children to the conclusion that the American general and the lead terrorist were simply two sides of the same coin.

Where did you see this reprehensible exercise in moral equivalency?

Rainer Maria knew: We cannot now rely on the sunny dials of of conventional ways...the shadows will cast all usual fair weather indicators into the dark. We are entering a dark time. No need to fear. To quote another voice of the modern age, Mr. Nike: "Just Do It!"

Go to the head of the class...
