And the woman that trashed it, was 19 years old...Not a kid in high school. If she isn't laying real low, I would be surprisedJoe... The 19 years old that was there was one of three or four that did this
She came back that first night this broke whiled the press and TV news was there (she was on the local LA TV news on ABC & Fox) so shes not laying low... also not reported there was a local highschool teenage boy that came out that night with her....(also one that did this)
Fokes I was there in the middle of this The people that did this are bold and brazen and bragging that they will not be touched
and at this point
.there right..
I mean come on what made this a big deal in the first place? That a 911 memorial got trashed by anti war protester?
No the was the fact that police stood there and let them
....saying it was free speech and would not take names(They would not be touched) .. that round one with the city
So some here say well the police just screw up that night
But next day the people in the area go to police and tell them they saw the car they know the kids .. the police hem and haw change there story and still will not take a report(They would not be touched) .. that round two with the city
Then little local story hits Free Republic and then bigger media
The local PD and City Hall get swamped with calls the police and city and still hem and haw change there story and still will not take a report but do call Tracey and the site owner and tell the dont talk to the press (They would not be touched) .. that round three with the city
Then that night the people that did this come back in front of the crowd, press, TV and police and say Yes we did this and you cant touch us) Police take her away but still will not press charges (They would not be touched) .. that round four with the city
And now finally the very first charges in this whole thing are pressed by city but is it against the any war protester that trashed the site, that burnt 87 flags, that brag that they will do it again & They would not be touched..
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO The very first charges in this whole thing are pressed against the property owner on whether he has a city permission to park RV on his property (They would not be touched) .. that round five with the city
Now You Tell Me...
Want to bet if Tracy and the property owner would just agree to forget about this little problem
the city would forget about the permits
In part Freepers help give the RV owner his problem (Tracy and the property owner did not post this on the internet and make it a big deal) because I am sooooo sure La Habra city & PD loved all the call and emails that got the last few days
Dont you think this might be why the city now remembers about RV parking permits
Yea just like the IRS always remembered to audit the taxes of people that Were NOT friends of Bill

Thanks tophat, and for your support of this small neighborhood memorial, that is now in the national spotlight......

The gentleman in question can hardly be referred to as engaging in 'criminal behavior.' Collison has been charged with a misdemeanor. That is a crime, if you were unaware.
Whittier Daily News
I recall another instance where people claimed that lying before a grand jury was not criminal behavior and such a person should not held accountable. But I had better not bring that up because you got upset about it earlier.
To: tophat9000
Dont you think this might be why the city now remembers about RV parking permits Perhaps the city 'remembers' the permits now because Collison ignored the October request for information and the January warning letter. Every two or three months, the city 'remembers' the permits. Only if Collison remembered the permits, because Collison seemingly has done nothing since September.
I also resent your implication that Collison has been running this business for years without a problem with respect to the permits. The truth is that Collison bought the property in July. The city has been trying to get the permit issue settled since then. Collison has done nothing since September.
Whittier Daily News
I will not support someone's criminal behavior because I like his politics.

I repeat, this is can only be construed as engaging in 'criminal beahavior' by some one of limited inteligence. Perhaps you see a mighty cabal of offenders engaged in RV parking. Plotting to overtake empty lots thru-out the USA. Furtively shuffling massive RV's from one lot to another in the dead of night. Hiding by day light; emerging at dusk to fire up their fleet of Wnnebagos in search of vacant lots and un-occupied drive ways. I am in awe of your perceptive abilities. Truly in awe.

Why is the city still not filing against the protesters? When Tracey try to file she told she cant because she not the property owner When property owner try to file hes told he cant because he not the memorial owner Sounds like the LE there is a bunch of liberals & looking to pass the buck so they don't have to prosecute the perps who destroyed the memorial.

In addition, Kies said, in January, Collison started storing motor homes on the property across the street on Whittier Boulevard, where the memorial fence is, and needed the same CUP for that.
The anti-war protestors, the 2 young guys that are accused of having done the vandalism, but as far as the rest of it, it is not quite clear what if anything we can possibly do.
#1 From the paragraph above I'm not sure Mr. Collison ownes the property. And if this has been an ongoing situation, hey I just throw my hands in the air. It doesn't sound like we can just go in half cocked and really don't know what is going on.

The funny thing is, though, I bet the police turned their heads about the r.v.'s being stored til this happened, then they try to nail someone on anything they can find. Time will tell, guess we'll have to wait for more info on this.

This is the best avenue of action. Go the nice way and don't get the city pissed off.
I'm sure their police department is getting reamed at this point for there impotence.

I just had an exp. my job for the Homeowners Ass. was to file a complaint regarding a commercial fishing gear shed lot and them parking an old RV, wrecked boat and truck body on the property outside of the gate. I had to go to the Planning Dept. did this 10 yrs ago same eye sore. I could care less but it is the simplest part of volenteer work as part of the Homeowners.
The planning guy same from ten years ago took me through the paper work same as ten years ago and through out some possible violations in zoning and health.
Maybe someone filed a complaint they are confidential and like "Steve" the planning guy here he doesn't pay attention to these violations untill a complaint is filed.
So where one can be in violation without knowing all it takes is another citizen to file a complaint.
Not to be against your freinds just putting ideas out there since I just went through this. If our Homeowners did not file a complaint the stuff could of set out there forever.
So if someone is out to bug they could do something as rotten as looking for zone violations.

If a zoning violation was brought to there attention and it is valid then that needs to be dealt with ......I agree with you.
