There is plenty of evidence linking Iraq to international terrorism. In fact, Saddam brags about it.

International terrorists carried out the 911 operation.

That’s enough for me.

Amen - and ties between Iraq and Al-quida are becoming clearer as well (e.g. Phillipine incident,etc.). So, I don't care if he can be tied to 9/11.

The fact that he is clearly tied to international terrorism, braggs about it, funds it, and is a sovereign nation doing this AND still further has been caught red-handed paying ransoms in the Phillipines to AlQuida for US serviceman and American citizen deaths, ... what more does anyone need?

The administration has succeeded in creating a sense that there is some connection

This strikes me as elitist as it implies that the public is just led by the administration.

The mainstream press would really be wise to read up a little. A place to start: Today's thread titled "Rush Posts Salman Pak Photos". Read the links provided in posts #9 and #18. Links detail not only Iraqi involvement in international terrorism including AQ, but also 9/11.

The first link provides US satellite photos in Iraq and the info contained in the Rush article has also been written about in the NYT and other publications and testified to by George Tenet. The link in #18 is a PBS transcript with an Iraqi national who directly links Saddam to 9/11; VERY interesting reading. Bookmark it. There are going to be a lot of mainstream press with egg all over their faces for not following up on all the links.

Anyone with their head up out of the sand, and eyes open would agree, Iraq is complicit.

Over the last few weeks I've become more certain that it's a lot worse than this -- there is a clearly-defined connection between Iraq and al-Qaeda, but it is being deliberately covered up by the U.S. government for its own reasons.

That's always the argument I have heard the administration make. The only context I have heard Bush or his staff use 9/11 is in saying that we know the impact of terrorism because of 9/11.

Sources knowledgeable about US intelligence say there is no evidence that Hussein played a role in the Sept. 11 attacks, nor that he has been or is currently aiding Al Qaeda.

Who are these knowledgeable sources, I bet it's the liberal Pressitute, sitting next to him
I wish these idiots would finally look at some of the stuff that has been put out there,
saw an article the other day about, Zac the 20th hijacker met with a High Iraq offical and then got a $100K wiredeposit prior to 911.

IOM Fraq Iraq, Soddom Saddam

Bush specifically said in his SOTU that Iraq had harbored Al-Qaeda agents.

This is a stupid article. They admit that President Bush has never said Saddam was responsible for 9-11 and yet they INSINUATE that he has. This writer just has no credibility. What the President has said is that Saddam would be more than happy to supply al Qaeda or any other terrorist group with weapons of mass destruction. Personally, I would not be surprised if, in the end, Saddam DID have something to do with 9-11. Time will tell.

I believe Saddam was directly involved with those who planned and executed the 911 attacks. The proof of that has not been revealed yet, and maybe it never will be.

My point was only that that is all irrelevant to the author's point. The proof that is already out there implicates Hussein and his regime as supporters of international terrorism.

A specific, direct link to 911 is not necessary.

I'm not just talking about harboring al-Qaeda agents. I'm talking about a scenario in which the U.S. government knows damned well that Iraq has been involved in every terrorist attack against the United States over the last ten years, but will never admit it.

I'm all for invading Iraq, though I wish we were doing so from the recently-conquered U.S. Arabian Military District (formerly Saudi Arabia).

This is a stupid article.

Everyday, I try to stop by The Village Voice and check out their “Breaking News” links.

It saves me the trouble of locating the most biased and asinine articles from around the globe on my own.

Someday we will hear the full story of Mohamed Atta's multiple trips to Prague for meetings with an Iraqi agent in 2000 and 2001.

There are too many people in the Czech government who swear for attribution that the meetings took place for them to be a hoax.

A specific, direct link to 911 is not necessary.

I agree. But in my opinion, if such a link is present but is being deliberately kept secret I think U.S. citizens have a right to know what the hell has been going on in this government since 1991.

Discounting Saddam and a connection to alqueda, the Taliban and/or Usama is like looking at a baseball diamond and seeing only one base....which means you're looking at the wrong thing.

I agree. There might be some sensitive reasons for not revealing that information at this time though.

When the "Iraqi problem" is wrapped up, I believe (hope) we'll get the full story.
