IMPORTANT NOTE: The above number is only a recording, you will not be able to speak to anyone through it. The recording can be updated from any remote location and so it will be updated constantly, as necessary to provide the latest information on where the rally will be held. Because of the recording limit of 20 seconds the information will be up to the point giving the location of where we are throughout the day. NO, it will not record your number. OK all you East Coast Freepers. It's time to fish or cut bait. We'd like to see you in New York.

Our current tentative location is Times Square at 42nd street and Broadway @ 12 PM on SUNDAY, MARCH 23rd. It may change as per NYPD preferences.

We are trying to keep this a well organized and coordinated rally. A committee has been set up to distribute functions for the rally. All rally ideas, contacts, business of all kind should be cleared by freepmail with the rally chairs, who are:

StarFan: press contacts
Dutchy: sign approval and small-flag procurement
Yehuda: Jewish groups
rmlew: youth groups
Cacique: threads, last-minute communications and updates, veterans' groups
firebrand: permits, speakers, and overall coordination

If you are coming I have set up a pre-recorded message line to keep the info current. Jot down the number on a scrap of paper, palm pilot or Black Book where you keep all those hot numbers so you can call it when you get here for all the latest info on the rally. The number is a recording and NO your number will not be recorded. You will not be speaking to a human. Keep the update number handy so you can call it for the latest updates.

Everyone should be sure to make a copy of the phone number at the top of this thread. We almost certainly will get moved around during the course of this week, especially if we ourselves eventually pick our own street corner, and even if the NYPD picks it for us. Keep the number and call it!

Just got off a conference call with YAF. They are great guys---young, knowledgeable, and savvy in the way of press releases and such. We may get a bunch of them from NYC and Long Island to come to the NYC rally.

Given President Bush's comments yesterday and his upcoming speech tonight, it is likely that we will be at war by the end of the week.

I think that we need some speakers for Sunday. Frank, can you get Steve Mahlsburg? (Even if he won't speak, maybe we can get some free promos and press from WABC?)
I was thinking about getting some Kurdish activists and possibly other Iraqi refugees.
