The picture from the ground looks as if the "memorial" could easily be diguising a satelite dish and a radio antenna.

Re: Show me the "after" shot....

Looks amazingly like Nagasaki, doesn't it?

Here are some pictures I found of a parade that SH had in the beginning of year.

It look like the parade was on the grounds of the palace in the satellite picture.

Tanks roll down Baghdad's Grand Celebrations Ground
note the stripes on the ground under the tanks,  These stripes can be clearly seen in the satellite view.

Suicide bombers

It looks like 2 cranes are holding up the poster of SH.  These cranes can be seen in the satellite view on the left and right of the parade grounds.  In the satellite view, it looks like they are touching.

Iraqi warplanes fly by a statue of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein

I found this picture interesting, not for the statue, but the fact that the jets appear to be refueling (or one is getting a tow).  I didn't look at the satellite view for the statue, but bet it is in there.

The image shows the Memorial of the Unknown Solder

They have a memorial for the unknown "solder"? Wow, the metallurgist's union must be really strong in Iraq...
