Breaking: Bob Arnot of NBC News reports coalition forces have captured an Iraqi soldier who was found to have an envelope with a suspicious powder, presumably anthrax, and instructions on how to kill coalition soldiers using it. Arnot is stationed with the medivac units supporting coalition forces.

Bob Arnot is much more then just a reporter. He is also a Medical Doctor. He went from Physician to part time Health Reporter, to full time network Medical Reporter to General Assignment Reporter. He is certainly qualified to speak on this issue. In fact, he is a big help in general. When the USMC CH-46 went down with 4 Marines and 8 Brits, the Navy Corpsmen yelled for "Doctor Bob" to come help right away until they knew it was helpless.

If Bob Arnot is reporting on Anthrax, trust it!

I suspect one of the reasons to deliver the anthrax in this way, through an envelope, is not only to threaten to attack our soldiers with it, but also to threaten to reveal the truth behind the 9/11 anthrax. If our government continues to want to conceal that truth, Bob Arnot's story may not make it to print.

I seriously doubt he had time to file his report with MSNBC.com while he was TRYING TO SAVE SOLDIERS LIVES.

Thanks for your kind words, especially well-taken since I think we had some verbal dust ups over the invasion timing in the past. I would take this report with a grain of salt (or anthrax) for now, however. It sounds a bit hokey. I do believe Iraq's complicity in the anthrax threats will be exposed once this thing is over, however. If it turns out to have all been the work of a "right-wing rogue US defense scientist," then I'll retire my screen name and come back as "Nick Kristof Wins." And that's a promise.
