I have been switching around because Togo West was on and landed on CNN -- really interesting report about what is going on in Baghdad.

Why would they want people to leave their houses near the airport and drive toward the airport which is what the Iraqi military is urging them to do. Why would Saddam clear out a neighborhood?

I don't think it is clearing out a neighborhood as much as it is congregating a lot of people in one place. Don't have a good feeling about this.

FNC reporting ABC embedded reporter saying Baghdad Airport is fully under coalition control.

Tell that to the French. They must be the only ones watching Iraqi TV now....

According to CNN, Iraqi's are asking the neighborhood next to the airport to walk to the airport in addition to driving! Why? This has a bad feeling about it!

Well don't ever stand in a parking space in a very busy parking lot thinking you can hold it while a friend comes with a car, cause Shep will mow you down.LOL! We need to give Geraldo some slack, and realize he is a very flawed individual, and an emotionally crippled, but very patriotic slut.

Iraqi military going around a neighborhood with loud speakers in jeeps jeeps telling the people to leave that neighborhood and head for the airport

Is this being reported by CNN, too?

I don't have a good feeling either. According to CNN, the Iraqi military with bullhorns driving through the neighborhood are telling the people to leave and walk/drive toward the airport. I cannot believe I am watching CNN.

It sure is! I went to CNN because of Press on MSNBC and Togo West on Fox and ended up with this report.

All the CNN reporter heard from his sources inside Baghdad was that this is a regular neighborhood near the airport and they were telling them to leave the neighborhood and drive/walk to the airport.

I never would have thought I'd see over a 100 posts speculating on sewer tunnels.

We'll see in a few days.

I think Ollie North is reporting from Airport area....can anyone confirm?? I sure don't like the sound of your report, PKM, not with our troops out there and Iraqi civilians being told to herd out there.....

It might be to cause more confusion if the Iraqis are planning to try to take it back.... I dunno. Time will tell.

"Heard it, lights out in Baghdad and Najif. Pentagon and CENTCOM both say they didn't do it. Possible coup."

Saddam or whichever of his thugs are in charge have no doubt been furious with the Shia assistance coalition troops have gotten in the south. In their anger, it wouldn't be surprising that they would kill Shia citizens in Baghdad under cover of darkness (and blame us). The fact that they expelled al Jazeera reporters from Baghdad also leads one to think that they were about to do something they didn't want telegraphed to the rest of the Arab world via al Jazeera.
