A little wordy, but wonderfully accurate, detailed, and comprehensive.
Stick a knife into Moore, he's done!

AWESOME post. Thanks. I've got a friend who insists that Michael Moore is just a bold visionary, offering his unique insights into American society. He's gonna get an eye full of this piece whether he likes it or not.

Excellent article.

Wasn't "Roger and Me" pulled from the documentary catagory by the Academy because Moore misrepresented some events and changed the timeline in others? There was some controversy and negative publicity, but I don't remember exactly how it played out.

"He's gonna get an eye full of this piece whether he likes it or not."
Oh that makes two of us.
I think I am going to have to create a Yahoo mail account and send this out to a few folks.
After being urged to watch it over and over by numerous lefties, I broke down and sat through this mismash of half truths and distortions.
You have to listen very carefully to the narration, he parses his words carefully in places to avoid coming right out and declaring that deep down, all white people are racist murders who are collecting weapons for some race war or something.
I fart in his general direction.
Cheers,

I watched most of Dennis Miller's rant over here in Saudi Arabia and his dyslexic characterization of Moore's film was "Trolling for Concubines."

Great post. Now I don't have to see the movie...

I found another one of Moore's typical misrepresentations on his Bowling for Columbine website:
Q. How did you get a tape of all those all[sic] calls the day of the Columbine massacre?
A. The sheriff's office provided a CD-Rom to the press of selected phone calls but tried to block the rest from being heard. We unscrambled them and were surprised to hear how many media outlets were tying up the emergency lines that day with their demands that they talk to "someone live on the air." Calling 911 without a legitimate emergency is a crime.
Not that I agree with this practice, but as it is done news agencies call the non-emergency number to reach the 911 operators. Without saying news agencies were calling 911 (which would be a lie), Moore composes the information in such a way that will confuse readers into thinking a crime was committed.

Miller said about Moore: "If my yawn was any bigger, they'd have to give it a hurricane name."
