The War in Iraq is Wrong
Posted on 04/09/2003 9:46:29 AM PDT by Jonathan AG
Ban me, but have the courage to accept the truth.
This War is wrong. Many innocent Iraqis have died. Many Americans have died.
Iraq is in chaos. No food. No water. No power.
I don't care if staged events involving a few criminals and looters make the people appear to be happy. Ask the ones who had their lives destroyed by American bombs.
There are no WMDs. America will remain in Iraq long enough to:
A) plunder its resouces
B) ensure a Bush election victory in spite of massive deficits and a terrible economy.
THIS WAR IS WRONG.

I see, so Saddam Hessein slaughters over 2 Million Iraqis in his reign of terror, and the fact that removing him caused deaths (civilian number in maybe the thousands)means that we should have just sat back and watched him kill another 2-5 million...
You are a fool. No one likes war, but to believe that WAR is NEVER appropriate answer is the mantra of the truly stupid.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." Dear Jonathan:
You may well be correct. Unfortunately, I believe you are too late.
I admire your courage to post here, like that. It took balls.
You have proven yourself in my book as someone who stands up for what he believes.
I admire your spirit. I think it could be put to good use as a 'human shield' in Pyongyang, North Korea. It is very likely the US will attack there next.
If you contact the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan(Chongryon) in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, they may be able to facilitate you. You will have to travel through China to Pyongyang, but I believe they would assist in picking up your living expenses in North Korea, and your way there. Let me know by Freepmail if you want the contact address there.

Pathetic. The Iraqi people have been freed from years of bondage and living in constant fear at the hands of a tyrant, and you call it "wrong".
Well, you know what? There is something very "wrong" with you and people like you. You're all sick. You hate President Bush so much you'd rather see people getting their tongues cut out than admit what is happening today is a good thing.
You disgust me.

Hey, is it WRONG for saddam to put children in jail? Did you read about that?
Just curious...
How much longer would you let him go on? How many more days, weeks, or years would these children be in prison for refusing to join the saddam faithful.
Does that bother you as much as how wrong we are?

No food?
Here I thought that the kind benevolent government of saddam hussien had issued their people 6 months of their normal rations to tide them over. I guess that a government that rations the food supply is a good thing to some people, such as yourself.
Yes there maybe a crisis at this time, but it will be short lived. As soon as the Iraqi people have the freedom to succeed and prosper, all of the problems you mentioned will disappear.

Iraq is in chaos. No food. No water. No power. At the moment the only problem is lack of a civil authority. The Coalition must provide law and order until the civilian authority is established.
