Bump!
BTW: Does bumping to the bang list still put threads on a special list like it used to??

I just read this in email also. I can understand the reasoning behind wanting to present an alternative viewpoint, but honestly, anyone going on these shows (especially concerning people like the two-faced John Walsh) knows what they're getting into. Having said that, it was interesting to hear the shenanigans.

You need to put in the leading asterisk to get them to the bang_list

John can answer for himself, but I would like to speak up as a character witness. You can bet that if this questionable picture and the truth regarding the article conflicting with the woman's on air 'performance' comes to his attention, John will do something about it. The producers of programs like you describe are looking for controversy, to energize the shows. But that motivation would not cause John to let this perfidy pass.

Walsh should understand lies. As his wife well knows.

What is Walsh about? Maybe Dave is innocent, eh? The media cooks many a goose with nary a care to truth -- they say, "we have to do this for the show, for the viewers, for the market." Whatever sacrifice pleases their gods of th market! (Hat tip to Rudyard Kipiling)

John can answer for himself, but I would like to speak up as a character witness. It seems that there are others who have differing opinions of Mr. Walsh, but if it were me, I would be PO'd if someone tricked me. If I were a sneaky person, I would be PO'd if I went along with it and then found it so easily exposed.
Perhaps Mr. Walsh and Maria Claire need a freeping...

Explain then, how it was that
- A water glass was provided for 'lil Missy Tears, but not for the other panelists.
- The sista had her own special "green room"
- The sista was allowed to speak of the other guests
- The camera magically did not catch the preparation of the fake tears.
- How the MMM ambush was set up.
Maybe Walsh ain't paddling the canoe of authority on is own show, is that what you are saying? That he is a clueless teleprompter reader?

I don't trust John Walsh one bit. I know for a FACT that he's an anti-gunner from comments made on America's most Wanted. How much so, I don't know.
I also know that a lot of anti-gunners are either intentionally dishonest, or are lead by those that are.

Let me repharase that. I don't trust the John Walsh that hosts the show.
I know a different John Walsh who is politically active(and may read this for all I know). That John Walsh is a good guy.

No matter how many conservative talk shows have him as a guest, sing his praises, or say 'what a great guy,' I remember his strong anti-gun comments during a live news broadcast here in California. Remember the man in Stevenson Ranch/Santa Clarita in the middle of the day? He had guns, and he'd made up stories to his neighbors that he was a federal agent. AFAIK, that was it. Then the FBI and LA county sheriffs descended on him, and he shot at them, and they torched his house, and he died. I'd have to research the case again but either way, there was ol' John Walsh, flapping his gums about "nut cases who like guns," "we have to get these guns off the streets!" etc.
"I figured out how to catch fugitives without a gun." --- John Walsh, father of Adam Walsh, a 6 year old child who was abducted and murdered by a pedophile. John Walsh founded a national center for missing and exploited children in the US. The center has apprehended 600 criminals in a few years.
See also L. Neil Smith's essay in which he declares "John Walsh is a plague all by himself." What Ever Happened to TV?
He's also for "ballistic fingerprinting" for all new firearms.

Look what I found.... mr_monster_2: Do you think that greater gun control would make our country safer?
john_walsh_live: Absolutely. I own guns. I hunt. I have a police carry permit, meaning I can carry a concealed weapon. I'm an excellent skeet shooter. But I totally believe in gun control. I believe that no teenagers need automatic weapons, automatic weapons are for cops, SWAT teams, and people in the army. In Canada and in Japan you can own a gun. The gun laws are very strict. Last year Japan, a country of about 110 million people, had only 100 homicides by gun. Canada, our northern neighbor, with a lot of different nationalities and a melting pot type culture, had a bout 700 homicides. In America, where there are more guns than people, an estimated 270 million guns, there were 20,000 homicides.(That's Bullshit BTW) So you can tell I'm a great believer in gun control. Those kids in Columbine should never ever have been able to get those weapons
