Four Men Enter Pleas in Gang Rape Case

The last four of 18 men accused of gang raping a mentally disabled 13-year-old girl pleaded guilty to lesser charges Wednesday.

Jury selection began last week. But all the defendants have now pleaded guilty to statutory rape or child molestation, which carry sentences of seven to 10 years in prison. Rape and sexual exploitation charges were dropped

"This is not a case of terrible forceful gang rape," said Cobb County District Attorney Pat Head.

The defendants, most of whom were teenagers at the time, took turns having sex with the girl over 10 hours in an abandoned apartment in 2000. Head said there was evidence of physical force on two or three occasions, and the girl said at least once that she wanted to leave.

But the men didn't attack or restrain the girl, and a video showing four of the defendants clearly shows she didn't resist, he said. "A jury could conclude that she is accommodating them," Head said.

Joseph Johnson, 28, was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to child molestation. Christopher Wyatt, 27, will serve nine years on the same charge. Carelius Davidson and Keland Ware, both 21, pleaded guilty to statutory rape and received credit for 2 1/2 years of time served.

The girl had an IQ of about 65 and spent years in special education classes, according to court records.

Right, a 13 year old retarded girl is going to fight off numerous men. The lawyer should be sent to jail too.

Another bunch of libertarians sent to prison where they belong.

What makes me even sicker is that libertarian wackos will claim that these men had done nothing wrong, that all sexual activity should be embraced and accepted.

Maybe these 'men' will hopefully suffer the same fate. My boss' brother was in Rikers when a man was raped with a deodorant bottle. The brothers found out he raped a young girl and wanted to give him a taste of his own 'medicine'. Too bad. I hope they get a big fat hairy version of Roger Clinton for a wife.

I'm with you. Kill them in as painful and prolonged a method that can be devised.

Rape of anyone deserved the death penalty, no exceptions or exclusions, but this goes beyond, way beyond....

(But the men didn't attack or restrain the girl, and a video showing four of the defendants clearly shows she didn't resist, he said. "A jury could conclude that she is accommodating them," Head said.)

This man needs to learn a painful lesson in one of the maximum security prisons, say a weekend of nice accomidation of three hundred or so inmates?

Is there such a thing as gang rape that isn't terrible? Pure psychobabble. "It might have been a forceful gang rape, but it wasn't terrible." Right. And this is the DA?

The eighteen men evidently have a combined IQ of less than the mentally-challenged woman's IQ.

Probably the results of generations of inbreeding. And it sounds like the officials in the case came from the same families.

I had the exact reaction to that idiot DA's statement. If it's not a case of GANG RAPE that isn't terrible and forceful to a 13 year old girl who also happens to have mental problems, WHAT IS?! Thank GOD DA's are elected; praying the people of his county hear what he said and react properly.

You need help. Hatred eventually burns you up inside.
